I think it's already kicked in.  I started out saying "I'll just pick up the PHB, DMG and MM, the rest were pretty pointless".

Now I seem to have a Fiend Folio on it's way from the USA and a list of my favorite modules I want to pick up...

My conviction that most of the other hardbacks weren't up to much is still holding to some extent though I have a slight fondness for the Wilderness and Dungeon Survival Guides that won't go...

Welcome. I am also a new member of The Acaeum and I must say I'm very impressed with the level of knowledge and camaraderie of this fine guild.

On a lighter note, you're in for a ride...you'll be collecting every print of the Basic Set, obscure fanzines and modules from publishing companies long gone, and Endless Quest books in no time!!!

Hector.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON!  DANGER!  Don't do it!  Those two books are a complete waste of $2.00.  :P

It's what I like to call the slippery slope - before you know it, you have a living room full of shelves of RPG books :)  Welcome aboard!

That's the problem.  You sit and go "ah, they're so cheap" and then you look at everything that was "so cheap" and add it all up...

Once you've added the postage - even within the UK - nothing's "cheap"!

Welcome; and to everyone else joined recently. :)

Welcome Chucho68 and Tyrannosaurs!

There is no such thing as light or moderate collecting.  You come here...you become obsessed...you collect.   You stagger through the city streets with other infected game walkers, looking for the living who have game publications to sell.  You moan and pound on doors where game dealers have barricaded themselves.  You lurk the dark shadows of Ebay, grasping for modules.  8)

It's too late for you now.

Hi!! Just wanted to introduce myself to one and all.   I've been collecting D&D since I was a kid, and am thrilled to have found such a wondeul website as this one! Kudos to who ever originally created this site!!

My interests are TSR of course.   But I also love what I call non-TSR D&D related items as well.

Well I look forward to many Posts and Chats with such great collectors and lovers of the game as you guys!!

May the D&D Gods Smile Upon us all!!

I didn't really start actually "collecting" games until about 10 or 12 years ago. I'd have to say that one of my most jealously guarded items is a Dungeons & Dragons 5th printing white box set. It's good to be among other collectors.

Welcome on board Nate.... personally I still don't have a copy of that elusive White Box (in any printing), mostly because my focus is modules (and of course, because the funds are even more elusive - HA!); regardless, it's good to have you.

I appreciate that (takes a small bow)... it came out better than I thought it would, to be completely honest. Nevertheless, I suppose he did turn out pretty cool looking huh?

... ya know, that cigarette was the hardest part to paint.

WELCOME UNI!

Welcome Shottglazz.  We are getting near our limit of Canadians.  As far as "meet/chat with some good people" the Acaeum cannot help you with that. 8)
