Hello all,

How nice to be with fellow collectors.  I'm 35 and a Urology Physician Assistant in St. Paul, MN.  2 dogs, a cat, and a wife who wonders when this steady trickle of funds out of our bank account will stop.  I remind her of all the Levitra talks I've done, and she stops...for a while  :) .

I'm trying to collect mostly modules from first and second ed. D&D.  Was considering collecting Dragon, and deeply regret the loss of my earlier stash as a kid.  I have fond memories of Fantasy and Space Gamer and am looking for issues.  Also collect Deadlands, and Gamma World.  I'm a postapocalyptic nut!  And don't get me started on Zombies~!!!
I've won an extra Throne of Bloodstone, good condition with map.  If anyone's interested, I'd rather help out a forum member than go through Ebay if I can help it.  Please let me know at [email protected]

Dear Deadlord,

Since I help people with erection problems, not too much to be "pissed" about.  Most people start smiling when I pass out the Viagra, Levitra and Cialis.

I am bribeable with modules if anyone needs any help.  Not likely, as those who love D&D tend to be a potent and powerful lot!

Best wishes all, just picked up a Mint Baltron's Beacon for $10!!!!  Newbie collector joy~~~

I take a zinc pill every day. Honest to God, it is a natural aphrodisiac.
Joking about the piss thing.

Hello everyone,  my name is Lorenzo and I am from Western NY.  I have been playing/collecting D&D since about 1983/4.  Getting ready to teach my kids the game.  I really kicked up my collection about a year and a half ago when I got onto ebay.  (Like Frank says, I to would be rich if it wasn't for D&D)

I've been reading your post's for about 6 months now and I find them very enjoyable.  (And thanks for the tips on who to avoid on ebay)  I mainly post at Zeitgeistgames.com but I look forward to being a member on this board also.

(I too can be bribed with modules)

Thanks,

Lorenzo

Let me tell you something ass-eyes, let me tell you ALL something: war has made me very PARANOID! and when you get to eye-balling me, makes my Agent Orange act up, makes me want to KILL!

Hi everyone,

I've actually been lurking around here for a couple of years now but couldn't register because my browser wouldn't display the confimation code. Thanks to this weeks update...

Anyways, it seems I am quite typical around here, began to play in '81 when I was 11, sold most of my collection when I was eighteen and have dreamed of all those lost modules ever since. Actually putting the collection back together again has been a lot of fun, and this site has been a favourite of mine for a while now.

Hi All,

I fit right in here--36yo, started playing in 1980 and hung in until about '94.  I didn't care for any of the 2nd edition stuff at all, never played it and have no interest in collecting it.  Spent quite awhile playing Euro boardgames, and my interest in DnD has been rekindled since I've had a couple invitations to join 3rd edition campaigns.

About ten years ago I purged most of my collection   , and now I'm trying to get it all back.  I've had The Acaeum bookmarked for years, and checked in occasionally, but since I've decided to recreate my collection I've been reading here more often.  Seems like quite a knowledgeable group!

Hi guys,
while I know this site from way back I only recently noticed the forum, so I just registered and
figured I'd introduce myself:
The name's Frank, and I'm a part-time collector. :)
Age: 28. And for those who haven't guessed from the screenname I'm from Germany.

I got into gaming with AD&D 2nd Edition around 1992 and into collecting and ebay shortly thereafter.
Though I'm not a big collector. I have quite some AD&D material, almost complete Greyhawk, complete Al'Qadim, much Planescape and lots of other AD&D stuff. I have a complete run of Dungeon magazine 1-81 (i.e. 2nd Edition, no 3E).  Also quite a lot of Shadowrun material. But contrary to the usual collector when I bought lots and picked the stuff I wanted to keep I often chose the poorer (but readable) copies and resold the better ones. (Good thing too, as prices have since dropped quite a bit). So it's a gaming collection mostly, though I don't game anymore. I did (and still sometimes do) some reselling on ebay under the same screenname, first (A)D&D stuff, lately Ral Partha miniatures. So while I don't own any really rare items lots of cool stuff passed through my hands.

Most treasured items: Greyhawk and Al'Qadim collections. Nothing too expensive in there.

Reselling highlights:
I once found Mint/SW From the Ashes boxed sets and B11,B12 modules in a local mailorder catalog, and sold quite a lot of those back in the days. I ordered for ~$400 every month from this shop, picked some stuff and resold the rest until they had no more.
Also I once sold  1977/79 PC sheets set with Tom Wham cover to one very happy bidder after I bought them for $5 at a local games shop, the Trivial Book shop. I loved that shop.
Later I bought the complete backstock of Ral Partha minis of a games shop and sold thousands of minis in 6 months.
Aah, those were the days...

Welcome! What part of Germany are you from? There are a few members from Germany in the forum, I believe.

Thanks!
I'm from Hannover, where our esteemed chancellor lives. (That's in the north)
I've already made the aquaintance of Ralf through my classifieds ad.(Answer to the last mail coming soon Ralf.)
And I certainly know (of) Matthias'(Hangover) famous Non-TSR page.
Though it seems he doesn' post here much.
A nice idea this forum, already has gotten me into the ebay thing again. Now I don't know if that's good or bad, as I should be doing other stuff at the moment. Well, whatever...

Nice quote BTW :) made me laugh out loud in the cinema!

Long time lurker, finally registered.  I love the services provided by The Acaeum.  I've been playing since 1977, and was fortunate to have a semi-voracious appetite for published items, at least before things became a little too commercialized for my taste.  Over the last few months I've parted with some treasures, and am currently debating wether to let some more go. It seems like the closer I get to letting something go, the more likely I am to collect something else...

Anyway, it's always been fun reading these boards.

Quick introduction.  I'm a semi retired computer game developer, and RPGs are a side hobby of mine.  I've got a small collection (~500 items) of various types, I don't go for collectibles, mostly go for things that remind me of my youth.  For some reason I've acquired a lot of FGU stuff.

I don't have anything interesting in my collection, although while recently trying to value it I discovered much to my shock that my Dune hardcover (Last Unicorn Games) is apparently worth a lot, whereas I thought my 5th printing D&D 1e in box was going to be my set piece.

I'm not too serious about collecting, and don't anticipating spending, say, an insane amount on any single piece.  Quantity, not quality! =)

New guy on board. Name is Luke, age 24, started playing at age 7 with some neighbors. I have a some cool stuff, various different modules, but do not generally collect for price, but more for what I like or remember fondly. I got a big chunk of the Lankhmar stuff, which I love, and some other neat things. Glad to find people I don't have ot explain my large collection too.

Howdy all,
My name is Jase, located in Houston, Texas for now. Moving to Florida in the not-to-distant future. This has prompted the selling off of the collection of D&D material I've collected since I was 9-ish. (around 1979 / 1980)
I am in no way a "collector" as I haven't persued gathering any more stuff since I stopped playing regularly over 10 years ago now. I've had a few great trips down memory lane while going through my collection making it ready for auction, but have come to the sad realization that I really won't be using it any time soon so I might as well part with it.
I hope I have some stuff that some of you all want as I've been reading this board for about a month now and I'd be happy seeing it go to a person who wants it for a collection or for use, rather than just to resell. (although I won't lose any sleep over it in any case ;)  )
I sold off all my Spelljammer stuff first before finding this site, as one big lot with every spelljammer piece in it save 2 all but one in near mint condition. While not terribly desireable for many collectors, I thought it was a good set for getting all that in one place.
I'm rather verbose, so I'll stop there. Thanks for the forum.

Hello I'm fairly new to this site..... Lets see I'm 28, I've been playing RPG's sence I was 8 or so, my older brother and a friend of his got me into it.(they just needed an extra to run a module they had)  I was really into it till I was about 16 but then all my books but a couple were stolen, so I got away from it for awile, then in like 97 I got hooked on UO, then AC, and many other online RPG's so there went all my time.  Back in 2000 I found a bunch of D@D books at a yard sale for 50 cents a peace! (good rare stuff) So I got back into it D@D, at least as far as collecting goes.   I buy tons of stuff on ebay, and I normally keep some items for my personal collection, the rest I resell and sometimes I even break even  , Well I am not reselling anything at the moment too busy with college and remodeling my mothers new house, but one day when I have time I'll sell some the Billion or so books I have stuffed in my room.  8O  :D

I am also a collector of things old and TSR, But I only collect TSR D&D items. No other RPG's seem to catch my interest, as D&D has.

I started playing D&D in the early to mid 1970's, while in the US Navy. More can be read about that on my E-Bay about me page. D&D has been very entertaining for me and many friends came from those days of playing warriors, priests, thieves, wizards, and fantastic races and creatures not normally seen in the real world.

Those days seem now to have left me as my professional life is so busy that time for D&D is almost non-existent. I often find myself longing for the days of old when I could ignore the obvious need to get up early to go to work and could therefore play D&D all night long with those old friends...

Some of you have seen me bidding on D&D Items on E-Bay and I have visited the Acaeum for several years and read this forum for some time now as well. I decided a few days ago to register and become a sometimes poster.

I think this will be my fourth post...
