Sorry if this bores anyone...

Also, I know a couple of you guys have told me you'd be prepared to pay money for AuctionSieve.

Instead of paying me, may I be so bold as to suggest that whenever you win an auction you mention my program to the seller?

I downloaded it this weekend and will try it tomorrow, I am off all day so it will be a good time to take it for a test spin, until then, no vote.   :D

Ha!  Like I would sell any of my precious loot!

I use it when I go on a binge and want to spend a few 100 on stuff. it's good for finding bargains.

Ah yes, a url might be handy!
eBay auction search software tool | AuctionSieve

And Jon, I was probably unclear, let me rephrase.
AuctionSieve is free so instead of paying me money for the program, you can compensate me by telling other people about it - ie when you go on your binge and buy a bunch of stuff, tell the people that you buy the stuff from that you used AuctionSieve to find the stuff and why don't they go and try it out too because it's the best thing since sliced bread. :-)

Nev, didn't you mention earlier that you get a comission whenever someone clicks to view an auction thru Auctionsieve?

If you hit a Rowsdower, you get to keep it.

Only if they put in a bid. So far I'm making about $1.50 a day which is better than a poke in the eye with a pointed stick but it's gonna take a heck of a lot of people using it before I can hope to quit my day job and work on it fulltime.

So getting the word out to more people that the program exists would be a great help to me.

Don't do it if you don't feel comfortable.

Tried it today and I liked it, I will be using it more and more.
I will pass the word as well.

Okay - I'm resurrecting a very old thread.  But, I just got around to installing auctionsieve.

I know, I know . . . I should have done it awhile ago . . . ages ago . . . but I kept forgetting, never had time, etc. etc.

It seems pretty cool from first look . . . but because I am lazy and don't want to spend time figuring it out for myself  :D  can someone please tell me how to transfer a trash list from one sieve to another?  Is it even possible?  I imagine it would be, but I didn't notice an easy way right off the bat . . . and like I say, I am being lazy . . .   8)

Thanks!

When you create a new sieve there is a box you can check about half way down to copy catch and trash words from an existing sieve.

I use it for about 98% of my searches.

Now that I know that you get a commission when someone bids through AuctionSieve, I will be using it to place all my bids.

It's a good program, and like supporting it this way (I'm too cheap to pay for it).

Dave, get the barbarian in the corner a drink, quick!

The best piece of shareware I've ever used (a program called iClip) cost me $19.95, so I'd gladly pay that much for Auction Sieve (the best freeware I've ever used) if it ever becomes non-free.

Best eBay tool EVAH!

I make heavy use of AuctionSieve, so it isn't practical for me to contact every seller. I would implore Nev to set up a PayPal donate button to let me and others throw money at the cause.

That's a pretty good idea. I'd donate for sure — hell, I've donated in the past to shareware I've forgotten about three weeks later.
