That's pretty high for a Dungeon magazine above issue #6.  I normally value that range at $3 an issue.

I'd say #7-10 $10 each no problem to sell, but a patient buyer can get them for less. #11-15 harder to get the $10 each but you can still get that price, though a buyer shouldn't have much trouble finding them for less.

Or maybe because your copy only shipped to the US.

This is exactly the reason I ship anywhere in the world, and cannot understand anyone who does not. With the US dollar being so low right now, plus the fact that D&D is worldwide, any seller who doesn't ship anywhere is really losing out. I'd estimate 60% of what I've sold over the last few months to have gone overseas, and I couldn't be happier with my international exposure. :)

Agreed.  It's not like I got my copy at a great price or anything.  I didn't mind paying that though since it is one of the few issues I needed.  I only lack 15 issues #'s:

55
56
67
69-71
73-78
110
111
113

Anybody have these for sale? :)

I call that a nice find!  I'd have been strongly tempted if I had noticed.  Let us know what it's like when you get it.

Shanghai fun & friends!

EDIT: I had placed 52 bucks on the item and thought I was going to overpay it if I won.

I did some research on this item a few months ago, nobody had ever seen one before. No pictures, no reference on this site. It's really rare as far as I can tell. I saved the picture so it can be added to this site, but dunno who to mail it to. :)

Considering that this one has the hanger on it, I don't think the price is that far out of line.  The price is similar to the 10th anniversary packs.

$52 might be a bit high for a regular shrinked D1-2 but even then you are competing with the shrink crazed collectors.

I have two modules with the hanger, and I paid about 25 dollars for each of them. Maybe that was a bit down the line, I don't think they're worth 200 dollars.

The other hanger modules (probably an L2 and WG4?) have been auctioned off a dozen times by hamilcar.  I seem to recall they reached almost $100 in the past as well.  But there is no urgency on those since hamilcar probably has another case of them.

Don't get me wrong, I think the price that many items in shrink sell for are ridiculous but there are a number of shrink collectors who are willing to pay top dollar.  In this case, it is a classic module, in shrink, made unique by having a cardboard hanger.  I don't think the price is ridiculous for such a rare item but I do think the price is ridiculous for a cardboard hanger.

I am a SW collector myself, but I do have limits, and although I can overpay for items I'm interested in, I definitely don't, well, over-overpay.

As for the supposed rarity of that particular item, there is also one problem: it can be easily faked. Since the cardboard hangers don't have any distinctive feature, it would be very easy for me to auction, say, a SW S1 with cardboard hanger. Or would you prefer a CM5 (with magic viewer, of course!)? So, I would be careful before putting huge amounts of money in such a thing.

Of course, the words "huge amount of money" can differ a lot from one person to another.

Easibility of fakiness doesn't seem to bother most RPG collectors.  Most of the $500+ items (tournament modules, Wee Warriors items, etc) are very easy to fake if someone wanted to do this.  They are pretty much 1 step above a photocopy.

When worried about an item being "fake" you look at the seller, to be honest. I'd have to say with the fair amount of high dollar items I've moved recently, I'm more trustworthy than the average eBay schmoe. It's all about the source, you know? Would BadMike knowingly post a fake? Nope, his reputation preceeds him. Not that I'm in BadMike calibre of reselling, but hey, maybe one day. :) The same thinking applies I'd say.

Yeah, I think it was too much, I had bid them to $125 USD.

(Which I thought was a little over the top for me)

All prints including the third printing of those are quite rare and in mint condition they will certainly sell for well over $100 (USD).

But as you said, $215 USD seems quite a high price to me too.

That seems a bit over the top but looking at the price in Euros, it's not so bad.  US $214.50 vs. EUR 134.92 8O

Lot of buying power at the moment for our friends in Europe!
