Gag?  Lost Gem?  Looks real and would be COOOL... but.. seems like a gag to me.

In any case... fun!

I've seen that somewhere before, I believe it was in InQuest magazine.  If I remember correctly, that was 1999, when the Wizards of the Coast were running an advertising campaign to try to convince long-time gamers that the lost flavor of the classic modules was coming back again.  I believe that campaign had ads that said demons would be returning (Burne and Rufus - "What the Hell is a Baatezu?"), among other things.  And I think this very cute mocked-up B2 was featured in another ad in the same campaign.  Not real, but amusing.

So... the question THEN is... did they make a physical module cover for the shoot or did they photoshop it.  If they printed up a real, physical mockup...where is it?  Rshelley auction maybe?

Could still be a hunt evolving here!  Thanks for the tip. On asecond look , I could tell is was a gag due to the copyright dates being 1601,1602... still. it had me going!

I'm not sure if it exists or not; I'm afraid it's just a PhotoShop, but I'd love to be mistaken!

I've seen some pretty skilled mock-ups in the past, both humorous and deceitful.  Never got to see that Ivid the Undying one, though.
