Which ones are you missing ?  I'm only really collecting the Ravenloft cards and am mildly interested in the Greyhawk ones.

I'm looking for some information on the 1991 AD&D trading cards.  The link to this website:

http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepage ... /add91.htm

isn't good any more.  Has it moved or been archived somewhere else?  I have a 3-ring binder with most of a set of the gold-bordered cards from 1991.  I have cards 1-17 from Dragon magazine, and almost every card from 18-737.  I'm missing (36, 42, 77, 79, 93, 108, 119, 125, 126, 144, 159, 243, 247, 251, 265, 280, 299, 300, 304, 354 and 370).  I have no cards from  738-746, where did these come from?  I have white-bordered cards #'s 28, 36, 42, 77, 79, 93, 108, 125, 126, 144, 159, 216, 219, 224, 243, 247, 251 and a title card that says "AD&D Trading Cards Revisited."  Any info would be greatly appreciated.  I'm a casual 70's to mid-80's D&D collector and these are something that is out of my field of interest.  I'm trying to figure out of I should try and complete the set before selling, part it out, sell it as-is or ???

Thanks, y-bot

Thanks you for the link, that explains quite a bit.  So it looks like I am missing a lot of the rare cards from series 1.  Any opinions on how I should market these cards?

Thanks, y-bot

Not sure how to help you there, just did a quick look and you can get the whole factory sealed set for cheap, so not sure if there is any success out there for just single cards.  See one seller selling some cards in various lots, but not sure how long they've been doing it and what success they are having.

I think the factory sets are different cards (silver border vs. gold border) and nearly worthless.  I saw the guy who sold some of the harder to find cards for $3-$8 each.  I didn't know until I read that list that they are common cards and rare cards.  Thanks again for the info.

the only real value are the rare cards.. there were only 3000 printed and these are the ones that people are missing if they collect the crads (I've just looked at collecting these so I'm a bit up to date on the matter..) an incomplete set tha is unfortunatly made up of commons is unfortunatly worthless... I bought the boxed factory sets for $5 each for the 1991, 1992 (in shrink even). and $10 for the 1993 set (which seem a bit harder to get... I think I'll be in the market for a complete gold set of 1991 and 1992 cards (but only complete sorry) as I managed to pick up all the 1993 gold and rudy set recently as well...

hi

i seem to have run into a strange situation here.  in 1991 i bought what i thought were the first 2 sets of the ad&d trading cards.  i sold them on ebay.  total of 750 cards all from 1991.  but the person who bought them told me that this was only one set.  i distinctly remember 2 black boxes sealed in plastic wrap i bought at a friends hobby shop. this was his first shipment of the cards and h go 4 boxes.  2 1st box and 2 second box.  the reason i remeber this so clearly is i put the cards in a binder in plastic page sleeve for ease of use.  and my nepwhew took the boxes to use.  he was 10 at the time.  needles to say the boxes were ruined by him.  now i'm finding that everyone is talking about one box set of 750 cards.  anyone else hear of this?  as i told the person i sold them to that i would have bought a second gray box if i knew that i would have a unusual item.  thanks.  and i'm really surprised and i'm going to make up to the guy for the misunderstanding.  as i have a lot of old gaming stuff from early to mid 80's and into the late 90's.

The 1991 set of 750 gold border collector cards came in two boxes. The first was labled "Series 1" with the first 375 or so cards. There were 36 packs of 10 cards in each box and there was no guarantee that you would get all 375 cards. You might have to buy 3 boxes to get them all. The first set is the rarest. I have never seen the series 1 box on ebay for sale, only single packs of 10 every know and then. The second was labled "Series 2" with the second half of the cards from 375 to 750 less the promo cards you had to find in other places like dragon magazine, borders, walden books...... It also took 3 or so boxes to get all of the second series cards not including any of the promo cards. There is a 1991 Series 2 box on ebay for sale at this time.

The only other set was the factory set and these cards have a silver border and have all 750 cards in the box. It came in a silver box. You can get the factory set on ebay for $10 to $20.

They only made collector cards in 1991, 1992, and 1993 (Gold border set and Ruby border set (The hardest to complete)). It took me 15 years but I finally completed all three sets. These three sets are extremely rare. I tried selling them once on ebay but nobody wanted to pay the price.

I've just picked up the 1991 and 1993 boxes complete and sealed for about £15 total, I'm going to check what I have and what are extras to see if I need to go back into the market :)

I have a MASSIVE and I mean MASSIVE set of D&D trading cards - would sell at a "wholesale price"

To give you an approximate scope... the cards are neatly organized in 9 slot plastic holders and take up a Magazine Box Plus another good sized stack...

If you are interested and want to deal please PM me.... I will try to describe and get pictures to you...

Your talking Gold border Collector Cards right? The Silver border factory sets are worthless. Anyone can get them.
Good luck. I only ever talked to two other people in 15 years that had the complete Gold & Ruby border collector sets with all the promos.

You're probably sitting on a gold mine Whiskers. Apparently from what you're saying these cards are extremely rare. Maybe the rarest of the rare items
-assuming you can even get them-
You should sit on these for another ten years or so till people realize just how rare they are and at some point realize a great profit.

In this set of cards resides a goodly size stack of the Gold Bordered Cards from 1992.... My camera just ran out of juice so waiting on it to charge... I will post some picks shortly.

I also have something called the Deck of Encounters... It seems to be made up of a ton of individual larger cards... These are in plastic sheets and I probably have a 10" stack...

Any help here?

Thanks

Okay, I am gathering the fact that the Silver Border cards are not worth much, but the Gold Bordered cards are more desirable.... Trying to educate myself here...

The gold bordered cards simply have a thin gold border... just like the silver bordered cards, only gold?

I also have white bordered cards that appear to have been cut from something?  Dragon Mag?  I have 16 or 17 of these.

I really would like to sell these cards to someone who would appreciate them, since I do not collect them nor do I really want to make a market in them.  Would like to free up the space.  If you are interested PM me your e-mail and I will send pics to your e-mail.

Happy New Year!

You can pick these babies up for next to nothing almost anywhere, old Game shops, Ebay (If you are patient)

Except for a complete gold or ruby set they are worthless really

Your a real piece of work. Just giving the guy some info that he wanted. Why don't you just mind your own business?
