Especially based on David's comment below, I just dont see how I was way off with my snipe, especially consdering both the condition of it and the fact that IIRC the last one did go for around $70.00 as well about 6 or 7 months ago. :?

Agreed.  That may be mine you're thinking about.  I can't remember the price, but I think I sold it for around $70.00, and that was within the past 5 months or so.

Great work! Excellent pick up.

I'm always on the look out for the Boxed set - missed the only one I've ever seen last year.

Oh, never mind, I'm an idiot. I thought it was a 2nd edition. Was up very late last night. Apologies.

This baby came in the mail yesterday and is in excellent condition.

Thought I'd never have the premier issue but got this one for a good price.  I think the fact that the seller is new helped.  Surprisingly, I seem to have done very well on collecting excellent copies of the old issues for a great price (#3: $36, #4: $46, #5-6 & #24-25 all for $40).  Of course this is balance out by the fact that I paid an average of $35-45 for several of the issues in the 20s and 30.

Now all I need are issues 13, 17, 20 (which are all waiting to be received) and 26 to finally complete my collection.

I seem to remember a certain Warriors of Mars that went for $60.00 not so long ago.

Hmmm, I think it was $100, was it not?  Of course, my memory is slipping, so I can't be sure.

Looks like you were right, although you had at first agreed to buy it from the seller for $40.00:

Arse!

IIRC it was in pretty good condition too. The most recent that Mike<mdr003> won over top of me went for $270.00 and it was only in Very Good conditon. :) Then of course there was the kreepontheborderlands one that that one guy that came overtop a pretty obvious shill bidder to win that one for $450.00.

Yes it was. And the final price was ~$40 as originally agreed (noted before on that thread Arse! • Collecting General •  The Acaeum).

The seller honored the agreed ~$40 deal, yet had to pay PayPal fees on $100+. :(
Would have netted himself another $120 or so if he'd remembered to mention that volume when selling his inventory in my direction (the source of my 1st Chainmail, amongst other items).

Which is a major factor in why Mike had to pay so much, due to that mental shift in prices...

The contents of the book may be worthless but the cover art is worth the $7.50.  One of my favorite pieces that TSR published.

Picked this lot up off a post on R.G.F.M. a few weeks ago. Came in today:

http://daimajin.home.comcast.net/

This was the first D&D stuff I have bought in a dog's age, but for $75 I couldn't refuse....brought back alot of the old memories when R.G.F.M. was the place to be  :)

Printings were:

Basic Set, unopened in shrinkwrap, 3rd printing

OCE Box, unopened in shrinkwrap,  6th printing

Greyhawk  9th printing

EldritchW.  5th printing

Swords & Spells 3rd printing

That's $250 of OCE for a start, plus a minimum $75 for the Basic set... *squints, trying to read*
