Finally I have something worthy enough to be included in the Fun Finds thread.

cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt ... T&rd=1

Fun because I've been after a copy for ages, and also because of the great price I got it for.

Regards

Mike

Nice find at a great price.  Just wish the seller had mentioned TSR, Gygax or D&D in the description.  You might have had some competition then!

Ok, it's not a rare or super cool item, but I have had a hell of time getting one in decent shape. This one is more like near mint than excellent (as descibed). I swear it looks right off the shelf new. And I thought the price was fair.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Hi John -

Yeah, I was happy with the lack of keywords myself. Also, although in the text the seller says that she'll sell worldwide, somehow she'd managed to put 'local pickup only' in the actual shipping field, which kept it out of the ebay.com searches.

Regards

Mike

Now that was a good pick up John, looks like #47/1000?? dam that camping trip I went on and wasn't allowed internet access!!  LOL..

Brette:)

Thanks.  Hadn't mentioned those yet as I always prefer to wait until I have them in my hands before posting here.  In this case, money sent but no acknowledement from seller yet.

I finally got my hands on these modules.  The seller had shipped them to the wrong person.  A big thanks goes to dathon who informed me of the seller's mistake.  And thanks to the seller for acknowledging this and paying for the additional shipping.

Turns out to be #17/1000.

I just snagged this today:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWN:IT

I got it mostly for the coloring book; while it's not apparently even close to unused, it's too good a steal for $4 including shipping (plus I'll now have a spare of each of the other two books, too!).

I'm not sure if I should post this under recent fun finds or the what you find in box sets thread.  I recently won the following auction

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5905841498

The Dungeons & Dragons "board game" and the expansion Goblin's Lair. It was a guy local to me so I didn't have to pay for shipping.  The winning bid was $3.25 and they are complete and mostly unpunched.

However, when I opened the first box, inside was The Jade Hare and a couple of other not so worthy modules.   Also, there were a couple of "Game World" newspapers that seem to be put out by TSR for product promotion around 1992, 1993.  Does anyone know how long this ran or how many issues they put out?

In any case, not too bad for $3.25 US

Sometimes you get what you pay for:  the coloring book and Monster Ms. are are even more beat up than I thought they'd be, although Aesheba's in great shape, so I suppose I still came out ahead.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of finding a copy of Cloudland for $9 (also worn, but what the heck), and a shrink copy of the 1981 gold 1e character sheets for $6 (though the shrink's torn a little here and was also hole-punched to fit into a binder)..

Grodog,
I just picked up a cloudland on ebay for $9.  I know nothing about it but I figured why not.  Hopefully it will be money well spent.

BTW, if you want to unload those PC sheets give me a yell.  I use 'em for my current gaming group.  Thanks

Inverness came today. Not sure why it's listed as EX in the Acaeum. Except for minor spine breaks and a slight ding in the upper left corner, it is mint.

The seller e-mailed me saying he's been getting hammered with e-mails telling him he was a fool, etc. Seems to happen to every seller who gives me a good deal. Nice bunch of people here..........

Post a scan... it's better than the one Foul has up right now.

(IMHO)

Hey and speaking of fun finds, I was rummaging through one of my many, many boxes of mystery and found ANOTHER full Talisman Set (2nd Ed) it had Talisman, Expansion, City,Dungeon and Timescape in the main box... I forgot I had that!

(I have yet another set I keep for collecting playing and ANOTHER set of Mint stuff I'm auctioning off).

I can only think of three reasons to email a seller and call him a fool for selling an item below a perceived market value:

1. to try and get the seller to back out of the deal so that the email sender will have a shot at it.

2. to make the seller feel bad about himself.

3. to try and get the seller to back out of the deal so that the seller can make more money.

The third, while maybe noble of intention. still results in the seller pulling out of the ever-important, legally binding contract; and once again getting into the "know what you are selling" issue. The other two seem kind of petty if you ask me.
