JESUS FRIGGING CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You could buy a goddam LIVE tiger for that!
That's 220 cases of cheap beer, or 220 fifths of good rum. Plenty to drink yourself into hallucinating that you DID own the painting.

Hehe, according to the timestamp on one of the pictures the seller is probably a sleepwalker. If the auction was done while sleepwalking is it still vaild then?

I watched these, and had meant to bid, but you would have outbid me anyway... :D

Thanks!  A couple of the folders I already have, but I wanted the notebooks and binder.  I'll sell off the extras later on eBay and let you guys know.

Hi all,

Just bought an unpunched NM copy of H1 Bloodstone Pass for a very, very reasonable price, albeit it didn't come with the box.

Anyone got an extra one that they'd be willing to part with?

I'm hoping it's more than it seems.   :? The seller's in WI, at least.

An update on this:
It's clearly a photocopy of a very good condition pre-pub or 1st edition set.  It appears to be complete, with some hideous coloured marker applied to several of the drawings.  If anyone has a scan they'd be willing to send me of a sample of the pre-pub's internal "hard-to-read" font, I'd appreciate it, because I'd like to know what I'm looking at, exactly.

If nothing else it'll be a useful reference if someone needs questions answered regarding the early printing.  The photocopy is very clean, (even the staple lines being very straight) making me think it was copied early in the original's life, or was a later copy of a very well protected, minty original.

A note on copyright concerns, if any:  If WoTC asks me to destroy it, or the Acaeum community in general thinks appropriate, I'll do so.  I was secretly hoping it was some rare hyper-valuable editorial copy or something, but for now there isn't any evidence to support that theory.  :(  For now, I'll put it down to "copied for archival purposes".  If all else fails, I'm out $24 USD.

Is that cheap? I bought a copy of that book in July this year. I checked back through paypal to see how much I paid for it... $6.05. I knew that was probably cheap but not all that much under the going rate I would have thought, as there seems to be a few copies about.

Two fun finds for me in the last couple of days:

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... :EOAB:AU:6

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... :EOAB:AU:6

I think Chainmail was about right price-wise (would have been a bargain except for the eagle-eye of Harami, nothing seems to escape his notice), but I was really happy with the price for Minas Tirith.

Regards

Mike

Yup; congrats, Mike. Hopefully the cover will tidy up a bit.
(Still need to replace the photocopied one I've got from that seller in Japan (the one with the overpriced RPGA3, etc.)).

Didn't miss it, Frank. The seller genuinely had a second copy to go with a good, decent-priced "Lizard" Chainmail from the same batch of auctions.

OK, I'd like to post a quick "thank you" to everyone who left me as underbidder on about half of <bentleychester>'s auctions, leaving me with one win from 21 bids; and that not a bargain, either!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5932180138

Oh well, that's what I get for bidding relatively low...

What did amuse me was that <bentleychester> then bid on the dozen copies of "The Beholder" up for grabs, and wasn't far off the mark (£2.50/zine is fair enough, IMHO).
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5932190934

(Mebbe the other fanzines he had for sale were duplicates?? *shrugs*)

*lol*. I'm being watched... :P
I've still notionally got three pumas in WA State, so I dun need a tiger to go with 'em. (The big stripy cats have a negative value, anyhow; even the white 'uns).

OK, I've been looking for a copy of that print for a long, long time.
Dealer price is usually around $5,000 (e.g. https://homepages.force9.net/chasefinea ... epherd.htm ), so I just bit my lip and threw in a snipe.
(And lo' and behold another copy appeared immediately afterwards, based on the price of my win... and was snapped up pdq http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 3761976192 . If I'd been a dealer...)

===

Anyhow; that's all kinda off-topic, no? ;)

Of greater relevance: Ozzie D2 ($42), very nice 5th print OD&D set (would be high side of EX, but for some age toning on the box; all the books are NM) with earlyish Greyhawk and Blackmoor thrown in ($83), "Book of Treasure" ($37), Arneson's 1977 "Dungeon Master's Index" (never heard of this and paid high 'coz Paul saw it, too), a few unexpected wins off Burnie Bros ("Classic Warfare" at last. *yay!*), nice Greyhawk for a present ($11; bargains getting rare on the supplements these days) and a first print unpunched WBRM in original packaging ($88 )
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5933380670
(have already had an offer of $120 from a high-flying buyer who thought they'd sneak it on a low snipe bid! sorry, not a hope...)

Was also surprised that no-one put up a fight for those early JG journals ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5929602599 ), either; after they were "advertised" on the board.

Hope you've all been having a good time hunting (or selling), too :)

Ahh .. so you are still alive... I thought you might have been eaten by a tiger ... we missed you :-) Plus you still owe me a few responses to some of the emails I have sent you.

Also if there are particular items you are after you should let me know!

Thanks, Mike... Heh, that I do. (But you never did explain that business 'bout ST1, either?).

Oh; and goes without saying, but you've made quite a few good purchases, too. ;)

Hi Harami -

I had a run at Bentley's auctions as well... I bid on about 15 of them, and won just one... for the Archworld miniature rules. It's a bit disheartening to place all your bids as you leave work one day, to come in the next and have your inbox filled with "You have been outbid" and "Auction not won" emails.

That WBRM you won... can you supply any more details about it? I won a WBRM a couple of months ago which I think is a 2nd or 3rd printing (ziplock bag, smaller sized non-mimeograph rules). Can you post more details about your copy (either here or in a PM) when your copy arrives?

And lastly, did you get the PM about the early SpaceGamer duplicates I have? Let me know if you are keen to work out a trade, otherwise I'll throw them up on ebay.

Regards

Mike

With all the rarities you've been accumulating recently, I might just hold you to that...
