Do you really need copies, or was it just /those/ ones that caught your eyes? Very good spot, if so...).

I gotta admit, that snipe really stung.  I thought that one had managed to avoid the notice/desire of everyone else.

Hrr... I'll have a scout around.
The PHBs are undoubtedly more scarce, although I'm still checking on the various printings, too.

The only spare I know I've got is pretty dire. Will have a check, just in case...

deimos3428 wrote:It wasn't immediately obvious that they were soft covers.

A few sneak through, which somewhat depresses the overall prices.
I normally snag those (poorly identified copies), round up the auction price and add to the research pile.
e.g. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5915737277

deimos3428 wrote:(I do need a soft cover PHB, but at the moment my bidding is on hiatus until I determine just how poor I am, I just bought a house!).  I assume the DMG and blue rulebook are nothing special?

EX 7th print Basic Rulebook with the chits bound in (hadn't seen that before, but of little value)
EX+ 3rd print DMG (interior pristine; would make an excellent present were it not for the fact it's a far better copy than I owned before)

Certainly about as much as I could have hoped for, given the pics...

Tim Kask's Adventure Gaming #1 and #2:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :EOAB:US:6
Anyone know how many in total were published?

Lot of stuff including a Dungeon Geos set 1:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWN:IT

Tractics in shrink:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWN:IT

and a set of FINIEOUS PHIGURES:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWN:IT
Does anyone have a spare Treaury to trade?  Also, does anyone have a complete listing of all of the Phinieous strips in print---after The Dragon, he moved to Space Gamer and also to Tim Kask's Adventure Gaming, though I don't know the exact chronology.

Hi Allan -

Well done on the Phigures. That's one of the items on my watch list that I want to acquire some day... doesn't have a high priority but I'll get a set eventually.

Adventure Gaming put out 13 issues in total, I believe. And if anyone has issues 9 and 12 up for sale or trade, let me know.

I don't know the exact chronology of Fineous' movements, but as I have most/all of Dragon, SG and AG magazines, I could work it out. And perhaps I will... I'll have a look for you at some stage in the near future (no promises though, as I'll need to wait for the next rainy weekend when I've run out of other things to do). Also, I'm thinking he may have appeared in another magazine as well, but can't think of it.

Regards

Mike

The non-D&D early TSR stuff can be unpredictable in value.  A few years ago, I spent $80 on a 1975/6 TSR Fight in the Skies (later Dawn Patrol) in flawless condition.  Since I don't believe in reserves, I put it up at $0.01 and it went for $16.  Three days after auction end I had a private offer of $250 from someone who missed the auction, which I of course had to turn down.  Never found another nearly so perfect.  Such is the way …

I've secured another ratty EPT 1st for myself, though.  I've developed quite an affection for it over the last couple weeks.

Regarding the Tractics:  I was a little confused grodog - the description says it is sealed in the original shrinkwrap?

I was pleasantly surprised to actually nab the Tractics set---I've been outbid on the last several that I tried to get.  Of course, I'll have to open this one....

Well, I think that qualifies for any "lot find of the year" voting we may do.  Maybe not #1, but definitely top 10.  Congrats.  :)
