Heh, here's another one:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

I already had a set that was really nice, but this one ended up being even nicer and cost me 1/3 of the first one that I bought.  :D   Now I have an extra one, is anyone interested in my second set?

Just picked up this one.  Was this a good price for what was included?  Seemed like it was to me.  The only thing missing from the boxed set seems to be the cardboard counters and the lot includes a couple of extra modules.

4 Issues of Wargamer's Digest.

June 1975 (Vol 2, No 8) has an article - "Dungeons & Dragons - The Magician's Ring", by Gary Gygax, which is a campaign story set in Castle Greyhawk (thanks to Grodog's website for alerting me to this).

Some other articles of note in these issues:

March 1975 (Vol 2, No 5)
"The Role of the Chariot in Early Warfare" by Gygax
("basic to the set of Ancient miniatures rules which are written by this author and will be published by Tactical Studies Rules sometime in 1975")

April 1975 (Vol 2, No 6)
"The Use of the Elephant - In Ancient Warfare" by Gygax
(accompanied by photos of minis by Mini-Figs).
"Warriors of Mars - A Review" by Jim Dapkus (1/2 page review)

Wow!  I did not know Royal Armies of the Hyborian Age even existed!  I must get one.

Anyone got a spare they'd be willing to sell?  :D

I got my copy from Aaron @ NK awhile ago for about $15 or $20 IIRC; be sure that it has the map, in addition to the rules booklet, too.

It's really cool.  I'm almost through reading it for the first time.  Nice descriptions of the various battle techniques and weapons favored by the different races in R.E. Howard's world.  I like how they say the Corinthians never used bows because they considered them unmanly.  And the only ones to consistently employ magic users on the battlefield were the Stygians.  Really interesting stuff if you're into REH.

Yes, if you're looking for one, make sure it includes the map.  That's also pretty nice to have, aside from just the completeness aspect.

Okay, not exactly perfect, but here's my 1st/2nd woody.  Booklets 1 & 2 are 1st prints, 3 is a 2nd.  Oh yeah, and it came with the T1st Greyhawk and 1st print Eldritch that I posted earlier.

Definitely. And, as mentioned, the coolness factor goes up for anyone who is an REH fan.

My own personal experience is that Royal Armies is rare, but not made of unobtainium. I've bought and sold two that I can remember; it can be had with some patient eBay watching.

A great set to have in any regards Stephen!   8)

Be a lot easier to pick up a 1st 3rd book if you wanted to complete it as a first then good trade on a 2nd print book.
