I have an almost full run of Wraith and Changeling.  Most of the books I've picked up have been BIN's on eBay and used bookstore finds (while some places realize now the D&D is worth something, they think the newer stuff is worthless, ditto with White Wolf stuff).
Still need 2 kithbooks and Land of 8 Million Dreams though...

This would have been a real fun find even considering probably expensive postage to Germany:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWN:IT

But unfortunately the seller doesn't want to sell at that price. Claims he (or ebay) forgot to put in a reserve and doesn't want to sell those supposedly precious LGJ at at this price.

Any advice guys?

Online as well as brick-and-mortar (in Cinnaminson on Route 130, as well as up in West Windsor near Princeton):  http://www.gamersrealm.com/

Thanks, I went there yesterday.  All the old stuff is in terrible condition and at regular prices.

I never realized that stuff like Ravenloft and Dragonlance were so much money.  I get irritated when I'm stuck paying $6.00 for a mint Ravenloft/Dragonlance/Al-Qadim/Spelljammer book and here theyre selling crappy ones for $21.  No wonder TSR went out of business.  eesh

But hey, more miniatures though.  I swear I'm drowning in them now...

Hmmm - good question. I've bought from him in the past - and found him to be very reasonable, so I don't know what this is about. I remember seeing his LGJ's up on eBay earlier and they didn't sell.

He's also an Acaeum member - check in the classified section for postings from him.

He could have taken the auction down at any time up untl the last day even, bids or no bids.  He did not.

You cant force him to sell the stuff but you can report him to ebay and after 89 days slap a negative feedback on his a$$.

I think everyone gets stuck selling an item that doesnt go for what you are hoping for.  I know it happens to me quite often.  Those are the breaks.

Report him, then blast him with a negative.

If he wants to avoid negative feedback, he doesn't have much of a choice but to send them to you at the price you paid for them.  After all, the auction is completed, and as such this is a legally binding contract according to ebay's rules.  Anything less would be unacceptable.

A forgotten reserve price?  Too bad.  As others have noted, he could have yanked the auction at any time before the end of it.  He didn't, and therefore he has to deal with the consequences.

He's obviously bullshitting. he's sold plenty before. Just unhappy with the final price.

Interesting. I didn't know there were other AD&D Action Scene Kits besides the Orc War. Perhaps even more exist? Anyone has any info on these?

I have those 2 as well. There is Dragon's Den in addition.

I had both back in the day, and still have many of the pieces from both sets, but not the dioramas from my originals.  I may have had Dragon's Den too, since I do have a plastic pile of gold/chests/etc that I painted (like many of the pieces from these sets).  I'd forgotten about that one, thanks for the tip Frank :D

*g*.

I could've sworn that was both after DCS's auctions and listed on the "interesting items" thread (to one's chagrin, it appeared).

*Still* a good purchase, however. :)

We emailed the seller of the model kits twice asking if they were sealed. He never responded so we didn't bid.

I think big college towns have more supply. I had to drive across town (suburban Detroit) and I checked the yellow pages for used bookstores on the way. There were six in the book. Three were no longer in business. The other three had nothing. That seems consistent around here.

But I did pick up a decent copy of Outdoor Survival Box Game at a garage sale today for 25 cents! Oh, the joy.

Dsaunders: Are you stationed at Bragg...and who with? I did three years in the 82nd, though I only spent about six months at post.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

A while back, someone asked to see proof of my Tsojconth find, so here it is:

http://home.earthlink.net/~greg_bernath/dd/

I know that poster was joking, but I thought you'd all like to see it. I'm forcing you to look at a photo of my cats first, but that's the price you have to pay.

I deliberately took a low-quality photo instead of scanning the pages, because I don't want to make it easy for someone to print out good-looking forgeries. I found mine in a bargain bin, so I'm fairly certain it's genuine.

You also get to see my envelope from the old "The Dungeon Hobby Shop". I don't know if it's a serious collectible, but it is fun. I was wondering if anyone else had one of these, or if there was more than one type.

greg: how is your cover holding up. Is the spine splitting at all? I pulled mine out a couple days ago while recataloging and the spine is beginning to look extremely weak.
