*lol*. Has been confusing me for some time trying to keep tabs!

I thought that one of you "Mikes" sniped me to "Classic Warfare" some time back (@ $35ish), so upped my max. bid the next time (and lost out to Frank @ $47; eBay.com Item Bid History ).
So, this time I upped my snipe bid yet, yet again to $50.89 and it didn't even make it onto the system! Wrong Mike to pick, I guess...).

Please let me know when you've all got one... ;)

The only reason I bid on the OD&D books is that they appear to be 1st printings. I figured for $13 each, they were worth it. Hey, and Book 3 is normal!

Classic Warfare for $50 @ http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEDW:IT

Sorry Grodog ... Seems a lot of us were bidding at the same time ..

No worries improvstone, I was just surprised that the price got that high---I've seen other copies go in the $28-$40-ish range.  I'm sure another copy will come along in time :D

That's the great thing about ebay... whatever you're looking for will ALWAYS come up again.

Whereabouts in Victoria are you, Improv? I'm out in Ballarat.

Regards

Mike

In Melbourne.  Waiting for spring to hit so I can spend more time at the beach.

I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that the GB shrinkwrap set that just arrived is another 10th anniversary set:

You don't mean a D&D 10th anniversary set?

Congrats!  I figured it was but didn't bid since I had already gotten one.  Did it still have the 10th anniversary insert?  It looked like it was missing, which could potentially decrease the value.

Well that's cool.
8)

Were there anniversary shrinkwrap sets for any of the other TSR RPGs - Star Frontiers, Boot Hill, Top Secret, Indiana Jones, etc.?

Don't know, I haven't seen any of them floating around.  It would not be surprising to see additional sets show up though, based on the fact that we've seen a couple new ones in recent months.  Anyone know who would be a good source to ask?

I've gotta think there probably are more. The 10 year anniversary was just an angle to get rid of stuff that was not selling and taking up space in storage. Hence, repackaged with a bright shiney label. 8O

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Dragon Magazines #5-6 and #24-25 in superb condition except for the slightess smell of smokiness.  Found completely by chance during the last 10 minutes.   :P

I recently received a boxed set of GW CoC second edition. Seller stated to me it was complete, but it's sadly lacking the cardboard figures :( . But I'm not going to complain because the boxed set contained one copy of The Fungi from Yuggoth :D  , one copy of Trail of Tsathogghua :D  and a boxed set of Grenadier's CoC Adventures :D  (? Weird name Perhaps they mispelled Adventurers...). Not only the Grenadier set is in fine conditions and with all the minis present, there are a lot more! All this for £ 8.50... I'll keep the boxed set and the minis and I will sell the modules: the inserts and handouts are cut out, but present.

This happened last year, but I'm new to this forum, so it's worth mentioning. Little gaming store in small town Indiana, I find a ziploc bag with some yellowed pieces of thick paper. Sort of a tombstone design on the front. Why yes, it does say "Tsojoconth." Great googly moogly, what a rush. I paid the princely sum of $1 for it (please don't hate me). I framed it and hung it on the wall. It's a fun conversation starter, and by far the rarest piece I have.

A story like that needs more corroboration!

Makes you wonder how many more rarities are just waiting to be picked up for a buck.
