Arrived today. Contrary to the description both modules came with original pens!!!! Also, they are in near mint/mint (easy) condition.

I have been after these two damn things with pens for years and finally...ah yes...satisfaction.

Also got a GDQ from same guy in near mint condition

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

*Checks the link.*

*Looks mystified as he tried to make Queen of the Spiders be GDQ*

Ah!  You mean that this module combines the G, D and Q series of modules!    :P

Yes, very obvious.   :?

Well, it's written in the corner... GDQ1-7.

Not to mention the stiletto boots and those crappy spiderlike diadems.

I managed to find both modules, with the pen and in shrink, at an Italian convention a few months ago. I paid a lot more for them, however I do not regret it. In such a condition they seem to be very hard to find.

As for the bookstores in Berkeley that I found, I will type up a list and post it here for others to reference. There are a number of bookstores in Berkeley, but only a tiny number have any RPGs of any interest. The other places I found decent showings at bookstores was in Concord/Walnut Creek and Fremont.

How's that list coming along?   There's Eudemonia for one.

Alright, someone fill me in.  Why does this specific set of record sheets go for so much and why is it among the rares listing?  Small print run?  Error somewhere on the sheets?  Questionable artwork?

From what the site description stated, I am going to assume a small print run.  But with something normally as common as record sheets I would think there would have been boxes of unsold product lying around after they phased out one edition/printing and went with another.

But that is why I try not to assume anything.

Small print run stated but I doubt they're hugely rare, all told (low "4"?).

Some of the other character sheets don't come up all that frequently in fine condition, have similarly short lifespans (apparently), yet command distinctly unimpressive prices. e.g. AD&D2 per Page Not Found

The fact that they are character sheets helps with an increased rareity. Most of the ones that were sold and used. The ones that were around with edition changes were most likely pulped I would think.

Very good question.  I don't know for sure, but here is a guess:
AC5 (orange) was replaced by AC6 (purple) rather rapidly, which is why they are rare.

The starburst on the cover of AC6 states 'Now for use with Basic, Expert, Companion, and Masters rulesets', so probably they had just come out with the Master's Set, and redesigned the sheets. :?

Either that or its because all orange cover TSR products are extremely rare.  (I have some X1s for sale, if you believe that...)

This one is very hard to find unused, they are much more common with sheets torn out.  Not in print very long!

That cover art on AC5 has a mystique to it, too. T1 scene. So you have that AD&D lore aspect. There are several older character sheets that hardly ever come up and almost always are used to some degree.

And how about that damn Permanent Character Recored book. That thing is always well-used.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!
