DungeonDelver wrote:I recently won (from the shopgoodwill.com ebay-like website) a copy of Kingmaker, a Holmes' D&D set (which I think in all honesty just has a copy of Dungeon Geomorphs and M&T Set 1 in it but no rulebook...), a goldenrod-flyleaf PHB, a DMG of indeterminent printing and a Deities and Demigods for about $30 incl. S&H.

I wonder about the D&DG - I have never, ever owned a physical copy of that book which did not contain the mythoi for Lovecraft and Moorcock's writings. So now I'm curious as to which version it is.

Maybe it'll get here this evening and I'll have an answer.

Sometimes I think the Deities and Demigods without the Lovecraft/Moorcock stuff is more rare than with it!

Okay, the condition isn't the best, but what the hell, I finally found the Archive mini of the pumpkin head bugbear!  Man, that's cool!

Not sure if the price was any good. It is one I always thought I should own. I have to say I was plesantly surprised with the game now that I have seen it. I thought it was more of a Dungeon level game. It is much closer to Divine Right.

Looks like a great price; I've seen it over $40 at times.

I always liked the game (I'm credited in both editions, and single-handedly did the revision).

Furthermore, looks like this one is a 1st printing. The title on the box edge is small & hard to read (enlarged in 2nd) and the booklet is too long. (There are cover differences too but I forget.) IIRC we did a package redesign and I trimmed it down into a 32-page booklet without removing anything (!).

That's a great find at that price. It's an interesting game, too ... in fact, many of the TSR boardgames are worthy collection fodder, IMO.

Good score.

+++++

Aside: that listing would have scared me away, though. I'm not a big fan of listings that just beat you over the head with do's and don't's. On my screen, the description is 15 lines long; 14-plus are used for rules and regulations. That's just ridiculous.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1

and

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1

2 of the M&T's and the Basic rulebook are 1st prints. Too bad the Basic rule book is colored in a bit with marker on the cover, its perfect otherwise. :?
