Actually, the dope e-mailed me saying he was trying to avoid eBay fees. I sent it on in.

Hallo all.

http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... RK:MEWN:IT

I know there's no competition with Fazzles or Rpga or R or Stormber's auctions but ...
I know it is a quite high price but ...

I assure you that there aren't many Italian Basic Sets still in shrinkwrap.
And it was the last I missed in my collection.
Now I'm very happy :D

BTW, the seller's just told me that someone offered him to buy the set for 250 € (after the auction was ended, of course  8O ) but he refused.

Shame on those shady dealers (they exist in Italy too)
but honour to the honest and trustworthy seller  :D

Have a good day.
Cheers
Giorgio

Eventually... :D

(Only wish the previous sellers who sent me those Ozzie Gs & Ds had been half as conscientious with their packing. Think I've got about five yards of bubblewrap here! :))

:) Worth the premium for the "last item", phps. Does that mean we don't need to worry about you bidding high in future, Giorgio? ;) *jk*

Looking at the bids, a snipe would have saved you 60 euros, since the underbidder was desperate to top your bid, at the end.
eBay Italia Cronologia dell'offerta per l'oggetto

Anyhow; know I haven't seen any Italian sets in SW, fwiw. (Or perhaps not even any in Italian at all ;))
Hope you've got a good place to display your win!

Hey, at least you no longer bid against shadows- although that still appears to be an Italian trait! :? ;)

What is going on in Italy? Civil unrest leading to a devaluation of the Euro so everyone is putting their money into D&D rares?   I just sold two loads of SW stuff to Italians, and Rad has gotten one of my best items lately.  If the Americans don't keep up, soon we will have to fly to Europe to visit RPG museums!  8O  There won't be anything worthwhile in the states to collect anymore.  Can anyone say "Show me the Shrinkwrapped items you keep in the back" in Italian?

Maybe the problem is that:
With what is happening to italian economy (and in particular, banks) nowadays 8O , people prefer safer investments like comics, SW modules ...  :?  :?

It's somehow better to be a collector (and give away money on items you want) than to see your money stolen ... Don't you think?!?!

I'm always proud to be italian, but in these days it is more difficult than in the past. IMO.

You missed the others as well, then, Al. They all looked pretty good, even if the prices weren't particularly low (what's new for the UK?).
