I know you didn't win it. I was just wondering about the math you'd been doing. Many of your expected sale prices are on the high-end, although I don't doubt you'd sell them for that (I've seen plenty of your listings and they always look good :D )

JKason, where in Connecticut are you? I'm headed down to Mohegan to make a withdrawal this week. Perhaps we could meet?

Hey John, that's only a little bit more than you sold your Dragon #1 for. Don't feel too bad about it...

*shakes head at crazy bidders*

I think I'll have to dig out my #20 and offer it to the other bidder who was prepared to pay £100.  I'm sure I can then pick up another copy for $20.

Thats that same guy I was talking about before in regards to the Stategic Reviews. He won a Dragon 1 IIRC for like $325 a few weeks ago. I think he has like $4k spent on Dragons alone and I am not alking about a complete run either. 8O I am suprised that quiltmom wasn't in on that one too.
Here is a bidding list of the last 4 weeks:
cgi6.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBi ... amp;sort=3

I thought I recognized his id, he's bought some Dragons from me the last month.  Just sent him an email through ebay notifying him I have some early Dragons and Strategic Reviews available in my EBay store, I thought I had priced them a bit high but in his case they might be about right.... :)

Thought you might've started a bit higher on #1, Mike, per my PM. (Regardless of slightly trimmed scan and condition notes, still looks pretty good ;)).

I agree. Add another $100 and contact the losing bidder on this auction:

I forgot about Quiltmom, good advice there.  However maybe it's just a hunch but Gregory and Quiltmom have been spending way too much for Dragon mags lately, I think this has artificially driven up the priceof early issues to levels no one sane would pay.  I sold Gregory a Dragon #3 today for $100, he probably thought it was an incredible deal after what he paid for the Dragon #20.  Regardless I still think they are overpriced, I bet the way the market is now someone could buy early issues cheaply in a lot, then parcel them off individually for twice what they are worth, and yes I'm going to look into doing that now.
I had the $200 hoping for a quick sale, I have another, nicer copy of Dragon #1 I'll put up afterwards that I'm going to put a higher, more realistic (I think) price on.  I don't think $300 is fair for this issue but I guess what the market will bear and all.....going to contact Quiltmom now....

(Some more hopeless optimism of the $1,000 Cthulhoid D&DG variety...)

Grubby Swords & Spells; 6th printing
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5189241958
$200 BIN

U&WA from 5th print set. In need of minor repair work...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5189249054
$150 BIN

"I also have and extremely rare item that you may contact me with an offer for, It is "Men and Magic," it is volume one of the 3 book set and has the word "Hobbit" in it. This was taken out of later editions because D&D was sued for millions of dollars over it, it is probabally the rarest book you could find on D&D. however pages 15-22 are seperated from the book. Pages 17-20 are missing, but 15-16 and 21-22 will still come with it and are in great condition."

Be assured by seller's 100% positive feedback... :P

Well, I was considering putting this into the laugable item descriptions because he has it listed as mint, which it is very clearly not, but if the $60.00 BIN wasn't enough, look at the item descrition:

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... 5&rd=1

valued over $75.!!!!!!!!

I wonder who the hell told him that, the guy who tried to sell a Deities and Demigods for $1000. Funny its worth $75.00 but he is only trying to sell it for $60.00, what a nice guy.

He is probably going on some outdated info on this.  Years ago it seemed that this was a relatively rare item, and many ads in gaming mags listed the price at $75.  A lot of gaming stores also sold thier copies through mail order at that price.  This is before it was discovered that they were not all that rare.
