This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

I'm seriously thinking about selling mine.

WTF is right 8O , I'm reading this thinking I'm going to click onto some crazy price for a WD #1. Man I've got piles of these issues 30's 40's. I've got to contact that buyer.

$71 (8O) with nearly one day to go. (Make a note of that description ;))
(seller's ID is <guttedreason>).

$109 final, btw...

The number of people who don't sell around here is pretty small in the first place and can certainly see the temptation of prices like that (or even half as much!).
Hrrrr.....

Depends on how anyone else picked up their WDs, but it was easy to build up a fair number of spares when I was trying to fill in the few long-standing gaps in my collection in the 1980s.
(And that was not a cheap exercise then, btw).

Should have three complete sets of #1-36, anyhow.
The last of those was a "mistake", trying to pick up a full run for my brother to replace the spare copies I'd passed his way previously: condition wasn't quite as good (un-bad?) as I'd hoped. :?

This was mentioned earlier in this thread, but that was before it got really out of control:

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... T&rd=1

I mean seriously how f**kin stupin can someone be.  I think this is worse than the beat up Q1 that sold for $71.00.

:? Am hard pushed to choose a "winner" there.

(And that as-new WD#33 with spine creases at $86 takes some beating... :().

LOL  . First that was half joking, but seriously at those prices! We have doubles, triples in these issue numbers. WD always had good distribution in the US and the Magazine was quality made with a true mag-quality paper, so plenty have survived. In the 90's I picked up a whole run #12 -- #100 for 50 cents (26p 8O 8O 8O 8O ) each!

I think there's still issues in the thereabouts of these issue numbers in the Dollar Bin. If they are I'm clearing them out today.

Just think at these prices we could sell issues say #15 - #35, and have enough coin for another Big Gun :D

This auction seems strange to me:

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... T&rd=1

Especially when you consider that this one went completely untouched:

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... T&rd=1

Am I missing something?!?

something certainly odd about that one. i sent a msg to the winning bidder (when he was outbid at £20.00 and said to him that i had a nice SW one of that mod that he could have if he wanted it instead of having to put on a higher bid to get that one. clearly he didnt bite and wanted to part with a further £10 to get that one. the total stupidity of some ppl never ceases to amaze me 8O
