Enormous amounts for SpaceGamer. I have no idea why they went for so much; I had a few of those early issues for sale a couple of months ago for $7.50 each (5, 7, 9, 10, 11).... three of them sold at the starting price and three didn't get a bid (although they sold with a relist).

I thought I was bidding over the odds with $60 for the later issues... apparently not. A few months ago I picked up about 70 issues in one lot (including issues 2 - 11) for $270 - at the time I thought I was paying a premium, but after the above auctions perhaps it was a bargain.

Regards

Mike

Personally, I loved the Hildebrandts' work for comics and D&D.  Their use of color is amazing.  But for LOTR stuff...Angus McBride is the King.  TBHS' stuff for LOTR is a little too...comic book-like for my appetite...IMO.

May Eru's light shine upon you always.

The "official line" was "pretty reasonable". Let's not rub it in too much, Mike! ;)

Just checking out that website, the do have some very cool, very nice work, but its just a little bit out of my price range. Then again, I can't say that even if I had that kind of money laying around, that I be filling my check-out cart right now anyway.....

Hi David - I'd forgotten all about that discussion. Pretty reasonable indeed. It also makes that 5-14 auction for $82 look like an absolute  bargain as well - the one yesterday was almost identical, and four times as much!

Hey-ho, as you say.... I'm young, I can wait for the issues I need to come round again.

Now here is a rather aggressive opening bid.

At least he didn't hit it up with all the typical buzz words that seem to go along with these types of auctions (i.e ULTRA SUPER RARE, UBELIEVEABLY HARD TO FIND, OUT OF PRINT, etc)

It's freely available on the WoTC download pages under the Dragon Magazine Archive Errata. It was in Dragon Magazine 142 but they forgot to put in on the CDs.

If people can't find it, and seeing as it's freely available from WoTC, I'm sure I wouldn't be doing anythin illegal if I made it available online.

If someone can find the link, post it here, otherwise I'll check back and upload it somewhere.

In this case, I'm sure WoTC doesn't care, but in general, be careful.  Many copyright licenses do not include the right to redistribute. (Even if it's free, they might want to force people to look at advertisements, for example.  Horrible but true.)

More OCE madness 8O Bear in mind there is still almost 2 full days left :

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... 3&rd=1

If this keeps up I may have to sell the one I own and buy another one later on after the prices recede from this lunacy....

Oops; was digging out the other thread and typing elsewhere...
Amused me, too.

What, only one copy you've got? They must be rare!

(*runs out to stack up on the last few (thousand) sets at $200 each*)

=

Admittedly, out of all the printings I've got, the OCE might be the worst "best" copy. *jk*
(Albeit allowing for one shared woodgrain box, of course ;))

Definitely; and although they don't usually go for much, am surprised my flag-waving didn't push aneoth to his $20+ limit. (Apologies, but was worth mentioning, IMO).

Oh, and no surprise, they've just listed Dragon #1, 2, etc....
And another "Astounding Stories". *g*
But still no Coeurl...

1981 Dungeons & Dragons Basic Set 1 SEALED! TSR

Nice condition, yes, but $96 seems a "bit" steep. Four bidders over $75, too...
