Hmm, I guess this is where I become an old school snob.  If it isn't 13th printing (the final Red Box printing) or earlier, throw it out*.  :)

I believe the "Big Box" was either:

an attempt to revitalize D&D for a younger generation
a cash grab directed at completists
an attempt to "dumb down" D&D for a video-game obsessed demographic
    all of the above
* The Rules Cyclopedia is exempt, as it's actually useful.

well there is always one isn't there :D
i must admit i started playing AD&D 1st right away and kinda skipped straight passed basic, expert etc... i got given the basics by a friend many moons ago, but didnt really do anything with them....kinda no point really other than to take up worthless shelf-space imo :)

Get this: "BEST DAMN MODULE EVER! WELL WORTH THE 200 DOLLARS!"

Now, what module might that be? Let's have a look ...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 4522307180

8O

Notice he uses that old cover shot that never made it into production. It is incredible how people try to rip us off ... and a $200 BIN for such a common (and mediocre at best) module is nothing else. Funny, he even made sure to use the book several times, because it's so great ...

Duuudes ...

Just wondering, if its such a great module and well worth the $200.00, why is he so kind to let someone just rip him off at such a great price?! He must just REALLY be a nice guy...lol.

For $10 including shipping for a mod that I can't find here, I'll go for it. No more $200 for him.

At least its looks like its in its original shrinkwrap.  After watching the non-1st print Q1(it looked like somebody played dodgeball with it) sell for $71.00 a couple of weeks ago, anything is possible.

the game emporium used to pop those suckers at a minimum of $150 and a few times sold them at $200 with buy it nows.

I think this one had really nice looking books and partial shrink so it wasnt a slop fest like most of the rest that get auctioned and sell for $60.00
