Oops, just checked the price that the Dinosaur dice went for. It was only $590. A real bargain. :)

I love the bragging.  "I am the only person in the world that owns all three sets...."

Ok, they're just dice.  They may be made differently, but they still are frickin dice folks.  If they sell, I might just put up my supposedly rare transparent Zocchihedron on Ebay.

The resale value of that collection, individualized and considering the shrinkwrapped U3, is about $110-$180.  So I think the current bid is a bit high, but not insane.  Nev's got the right idea.
;)

Ah...resale.   I hadn't thought of that.  I was busy looking for a hidden PoVQ or something.

Well, I just won this:

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... RK:MEWN:IT

But I'm mostl playing the lottery on that -- I figure at an aggregate of < $2 each, it was a worthy bid, and maybe one of those wedged modules is something valuable =)

Regarding that auction on vintage modules, it could just be high because someone is paying for the convenience -- buying those individually would incur significant (often you see UK1 or A2 going for, what, $2?  And then $2.95 shipping) shipping costs.

You'll make out just fine. The Rules Cyclopedia regularly goes for $20+.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

BTW, to clarify, I'm not a reseller, unless I have duplicates.  To save money as I expand my collection I basically buy lots and then sell off the duplicates, and if I'm lucky I break even but gain a couple things.

One thing I've found is that if I have single items that aren't getting bids, even for $1.99 or whatever, I put a bunch of "worthless" items together in a lot and manage to sell them off for $3 or something =)

No box, Punched. The Sutherland mint copy went for somewhere around $150 (I Think) which is only worth it because it came for that lot. Opinions?

That's not a bad price IMO, although you can do better. As well as the Sutherland auction, there was another boxed version about a week later (punched, in VGC) that went for $294. I paid $170 for a boxed version a few months ago, and also $57 for a ziplock shortly afterwards - both punched, but in VGC. I think I paid at the top end for the box, but got a deal on the bag.

This example (that went for $86) might have been the bagged version, missing the ziplock. High, but not outrageously so.

We picked up a sweet unpunched bagged version for $72 not long ago.

Since you're looking for a quick response, I'd say that's not too bad a price (regardless of any other "bargains").

SPI's "War of the Ring" (in any format) regularly goes for more and that's far more common, by comparison; e.g.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5921711335
(but also very popular).

It's the Tolkien effect: nothing you can do about that... and it is a good item for display, too.
(aside: Alas, I can't turn back the clock and pick up the original trilogy in first edition with nice dustwrappers that I turned down for $450 or so, in Oxford. Hrrr... no comment...).

Oh, and btw, the DCS copy was $304, not ~$150.

Wow.  I have one of those sitting on the top shelf of my closet untouched for a couple decades.  I guess I'll have to inventory the pieces and list it.  :)  Heck - mine even looks like its in better shape.  Does it really go for that much on a regular basis?

It doesn't seem to be a shill...so I'm guessing just someone REALLY clueless.  If only we were all so lucky (then again, I paid $75 for my Powers & Perils "Tower of the Dead" module when I swore there would never be another for sale, and the last one I saw went for $9.99 no bids =) ).
