I own the CD archive (bought it for $70 when it first came out) and having used it for some time, I'd say the SVgames option is probably the best value.  Having reviewed the product and dealt with its cumbersome user interface (I use Adobe instead) I wouldn't pay more than $40 knowing what I know now.  Paying $120 for a collection of PDF files is ridiculous.

svgames has been out of stock on that forever...i'm not sure if it will ever be back in stock at svgames as they have never responded to any e-mail request i have sent.

At $50 some, I'm very happy with it (once it was pointed out to me that you can circumvent the sucky interface).

About .20 an issue and most importantly - no storage problems!

How do you circumvent the interface?

Each of the magazines is a standard PDF.  Just don't use the interface.  Load it up in Acrobat Reader.

I don't know, but I'm happy for the seller.  I met them in person for my first Ebay win ever (same city), very friendly!  :D  If I hadn't had a good experience, I probably wouldn't have used ebay again...

cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&a ... 5920497400

Is it just me or does this seem awfully high...

Although looking at the bid history explains some of it, does anyone know if these items normally go for this much?

Gee, what do you know, a user ID created the same day as the auction start. Seems to happen a lot lately.

Thought the final price on this one might raise a few eyebrows:

Some members felt this lot would be a risk to bid on.  Apparently others didn't think that it was.  I think it went for way too much based on the quality and quantity of the items involved but, then again, there were a few rare items the lot.  Plus it is a great start for someone looking for an instant collection.

If the lot even exists. If the seller even intended to ship. etc. etc.

While not D&D this has got to be my favourite silly auction for the year ...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWA:IT

Maybe I should bid on it just below the reserve so I can say I bid on a million dollar auction ... :-)

Why not just hit BIN and pick it up for the low low price of $35M?  This definitely has my vote.  Now, I'm no expert, but I was under the impression that you "registered" a domain name, not purchased it, anyway.  That would really suck when it expired...not to mention most of those 99 names are pretty questionable.

If he has registered the names, they are his. He can sell them to you (which is what squatters used to do). The question is whether he even owns them. It's easy enough to look up. Personally, if I wanted one of them, I'd just wait until it expired. If he is foolish enough to reregister them.........

Hehe, and, oh, let's see, the second highest bidder joined yesterday! Isn't that nice. I wouldn't be paying that one if it were me.

While you may be right with the bidder being sus I would expect that if you bid after the zero bidder bid then I would expect that you should pay.  Check the times mdr knew what he was doing .... Plus you are always in control of your max bid.

Yes, he bid 8 seconds before the end, which means he sniped it, most likely. BUT, whether or not his max snipe was $255 is irrelevant. I would request contact info for the 0 feedbacker, and if he isn't legit, I'd file a grievance with eBay.
Wait a minute. A few years ago I took a boatload of shit for my opinion on shill bidding, which subsequently changed my attitude. Is it now OK to shill your own auctions?
