Maybe I need to go into the miniature reselling business... 8O

Mordrin,

No, it was earlier than that. I got married in 1993 and I am pretty sure it was before that. Did very little gaming since then and only go to gencon every couple years now...just to hang with the guys.

But you are correct in that they may not have done it every year...

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Yep and the worst part is the more I have been calling around looking for stuff at regular stores, the more I am beginning to believe that the supermodules never came shrinkwraped...if the store felt the need to do it they did it so it wasnt a factory direct thing.

The maps didnt come loose, they were attached to the spine via perforated paper so in that scenario it wasnt necessary either.

Of course if the item is mint its still probably worth it I guess regardless.

"What can I get for $10?"

"Mint Rare and Shrinkwrapped-just pick that bar of soap up for us pls, we love you long time!"

Free listing day on ebay UK.

I would guess hes testing the water.

On the other hand, given how much he buys, he must have an awful lot of rpg items now.

Cheers,
Malcolm

We are 100% sure that at least T1-4, S1-4, and B1-9 came from TSR shrinked. We have seen them straight from  TSR cases at a distributor's warehouse. The other supermodules probably came shrinkwrapped also, but we can't confirm this.

Okay I know that this is not a D&D item, but I thought I'd post it anyways.

Gamma World 3rd Edition Box Set Mint:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 07817&rd=1

Final price:  $152.50.  It looks like a couple of guys got into a bidding war using the "HAD to have it" mentality.  (Sigh, been there myself)

Now for those unfamiliar with Gamma World, the game itself has always had a love it or hate it reaction associated with it.  This particular edition compounds that.  Some GW fans feel that this is the best edition, others feel like it is the worst due to the combersome rules and the Marvel Superheroes style action/combat matrix.

Just thought I'd share a bit of eBay silliness.

Gamma World 3d Edition was practically unplayable without the errata.  2d Edition was far better.  Of course the price is far too high, especially given that I have the first five editions of the game, and the grand total of all five came out to about $100.  But I do understand that "Had to have it" mentality, because I just had to have a copy of Dune: Chronicles of the Imperium.  Unlike these guys, I still bid smartly, and won the book.

AD&D Silver Anniversary Collector's Edition
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 39750&rd=1
$75.00 Buy it Now.  I think it's a bit steep (especially since it's opened), even if it is complete.

Looks like it.  Too bad, too, I was going to bid on that one tonight.  But I refuse to go for shill auctions, T_G_E auctions, or ones that have a reserve.  Common themes:  Greed and deceit.

I've only had one quirky seller in the past two months, small warning:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 6913093128
Watch out for bargains from rdrage2002.  I was charged $12.95 shipping for an item that cost $4.41 to ship via Priority Mail.  I don't mind paying a small handling charge to make up for the seller's time, as I know just how long it takes to package and sell things … but that's a bit steep, especially without any prior notification.

I would not pay that much for the first print.
