Which equates to about $250.  I don't care if the seller is a zero feedback newbayer, they deserve a good shoeing!

I also think, intzbm2 put in a high bid and assumed he would win (and no one would find out). I bet the second high bidder knew about intzbm2's super high bid. If not, it is even funnier.

Let's check the feedback they leave each other...

Positive feedback left for the winning bidder at $305.  8O

I remember pointing that auction out when he was bidding on it himself a few months ago, because he drove the price up so high and I couldnt understand what was so special about it.

Anyhow did you see his Bloodstone Pass auction? 99 british pounds ... ie almost $200 for an unshrinked, opened copy.

There were no bids last I checked...some of the resellers seem to be getting a bit too greedy, and the buyers arent buying it apparently.

The Game Emporium is the exception,  for some reason people pay any cost to win his auctions...white box set sold for $200 BIN just the other day.  Mind Boggling especially since there are like 5 sets for sale this week and a few that ended last week.

Ok, dead...time to cut that hair...

This is getting crazy

Ok this one beats anything ever posted on this thread.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1

wtf?

I'm speechless, especially considering I bought this same item from this same seller one month ago for $16.49
This is totally perplexing.

I'd offer the "losing" bidder my box for "only" $250 but I'd feel guilty.
It's just too weird...

I just checked.... POSITIVE FEEDBACK LEFT FOR THE SELLER BY THE BUYER!  IT WAS LEGIT!  Holy crapamoly (tm)  It's time to sell my friends!

The guy paid over 300 bucks for a boxed 80s mini and is HAPPY ABOUT THE TRANSACTION!

Bookmark that buyer boys.  He's a good one to know! :)

And the sad thing is, we've seen this thing go for what, twice that on rare occassions?  I've gotten about 3 copies over the past 2-3 years, all of which I paid no more than $15, and all were in mint condition.  But thats what people get when the aren't patient.

Ive been watching this supermodule for almost a year now and waiting for a lower price but it just keeps going up.  There are still a ton of people that want that item.

Also this one was in great condition compared to a lot of the others that go for $40-$60.

Ive never seen any Queen of the spiders break $100 though (I wouldnt doubt it though if one would pop out that was in shrinkwrap).

Wanna sell one of your extras to me for $15?   :D

Must be a big fan of Uni... the DM puzzle goes for less than $10 whenever I've seen it on eBay, including the one I sold a few months back.   :?

You know how foulfoot refers to the 'early smart' folks that started collecting back when you could get shrinked old items for .50 to a buck (as someone's sig says here).

Well.. I don't fall into that category since I started 'collecting' in the mid-90s when I started noticing that those 'bargain baskets' were disappearing.

With the recent rise in Ebay prices though, I'm wondering if I know qualify as 'early smart' too?  :)  When do I get to brag about being a visionary? :D

Wow, the coverless "The Jade Hare" is getting rather pricey lately!  I just don't understand it.  Maybe I'm missing something...

Jon,

I remember going into a dollar store (a chain of discount stores here in Michigan) and seeing  modules in bins for a dollar each. I already had them so I didn't buy any...that was around 1990 or so...

Also, TSR had a "discount" booth at gencon one year...late 80s maybe...it was tucked away in the back of the great hall. They had overstock modules and games for two to five dollars each. I bought the entire GAZ series for around 30 bucks and a copy of Dungeon for five. They had dozens of GAZ copies...think of what an investment of two hundred dollars could have netted in this market.

Its funny, I was collector back as far as 1983 or so, but not in any sense other than I wanted a copy of AD&D products for my a personal collection. I never really thought about value.

Now, me and my freinds did quite of bit of buying at the gencon auctions in the early days...mostly SPI games. I sold most of them years ago...prior to the emergence of ebay :(

So I do consider myself somewhat of a visionary...but not for the reason some would think. I had the right idea, but it wasn't about money...I missed that particular boat. The lost opportunities drive me nuts if I really think about it. I know some people on this forum might not believe this, but Orange B3 used to sell at auction for around $75. And I thought that was too high... 8O

Later than that, because I wasn't going back then, and it wasn't my first year either.  Bout 94ish I'm thinking.  Also, I think it was there for 2-3 yrs.  I got some stuff, but no gazatteers.  Damn.  :(
