Look who is bidding on it, that's why it is up there. Cougarretard loves reselling those things for $200 or so to the poor Brits in his area. $100+ for that is inane. Mine was $43, mixed in with a lot. I'd wait and snag one in a lot if possible.

I thought iluvdnd's purpose in life was to make life hell for sellers violating copyright laws. I never expected to see him drive up a price on an auction in which an ebay newbie was expressing their ignorance.

Don't be. It was a shill account. If you look at histories, that and a few other 0 feedback accounts have been used to jack several auctions by that seller and another. Purple can verify it. Besides, iluvdnd will probably retire soon, too many battle scars. Perhaps he will have offspring.

I hate to say this, considering what has occurred...but carol862 is not a shill bidder. Fortunately, rather than taking the usual hour to investigate the matter, it only took about 2 minutes. Look at the following auctions:

About a week apart, both of these auctions were for the same product (not the same item, just the same product). Two different sellers that are 2000 miles apart. These are also the only auctions that Carol862 has bid on. Carol862 has shown his bidding methodology: continuously bidding until he is on top. An approach that we all know that new ebayers tend to use and can be seen in both auctions. This was nothing more than a new bidder seeing a high bar being set for a particular item and then carrying over that experience to a similar auction.

Please, let us not assume that a shill is in place simply because there is an unusually high bidding amount by a low feedback buyer. I think the best thing to do is just chaulk this up to a learning experience. One I hope we will all learn from.

Hm, I might have to agree with you.
However, Carol862 placed a manual bid 5 minutes from the end. No one typed it in for him. If he is foolish enuff to pay that much for it, that is his issue. Simple research would show that it usually goes for FAR less.
Seems the seller should be grateful.

I'm sorry, but I have to comment further it seems. Regardless as to Carol862's actions, he was shilled for $20 in all of this. We all know that if the iluvdnd's bid had carried the day that the bid would not have been honored. Please do not try to rationize away such conduct as: "well, he put in the bid and no one was twisting his arm to do so." That is the stock and line response for any con man (and us used quite frequently when some elderly person has lost their life savings).

You made a mistake. Be man enough to own up to that mistake with a simple "ya, I screwed up. It won't happen again." That is all anyone could ask for, a simple admission of error and a statement of intent that the mistake will not be repeated.

Are these modules always around $100? I see them all the time and all the time the prices are extremely high. Was this one of the most fun modules to play or something (I wasnt playing when this one was released)?

Partly their popularity comes from being ultra-high level (one of the bloodstones is the highest level module made).

I don't have any, but I think you take on a major demon/devil in one of them.

Their insane prices has just become a self-feeding spiral. They're really not especially rare - I can name plenty of others less common.

The main theory as to why the H series is popular is because they were designed for very high-level characters, and H1 was the first to utilize the then new Battlesystem mass-combat option.

But I also think, and could be wrong, that the H series is rarer than your A, G, D, B, etc. series because the H series was published on the cusp of 2nd Edition, and therefore I don't think it went through as many printings.
But that's just a guess, someone else here probably has firmer numbers.

They are also difficult to find in mint condition as the box was to weak and is nearly always bashed.

However, current prices are forced by a well-known (ahem) British reseller.

I am not convinced about the possible shilling from above. There are plenty of those particular box sets available all the time. I ran into several of them just cruising around casually.

None come close to that sales price...
