Yup.  It's the B9, which sometimes spikes.  Meanwhile, a very nice B9 at 3178016223 is going hungry for bids ... :P

Good question.  I really like how in the auction title they use "ORIGINAL" and in the descritpion they state "Special Silver Anniversary Issue! A Must for ANY Dungeons & Dragons Collector!!"  but not that it's only one book from the Silver Anniversy box set.

Wow, That's got to be a record for a Judges Guild item!  The same seller has several items that I would consider rarer such as:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 3177203777

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 3177201717

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 3177208861

I think the trick is in the way the info is provided: "(Blackmoor)" & "Blackmoor by Dave Arneson".  Gives the impression perhaps that it is a lost TSR product.  Notice how it soesn't say anywhere that it is a Judges Guild product...  Pretty sneaky I'd say.

That davidvanwie guy is either one of those crack smokers or a dot-com millionarie who just wants to buy lots of stuff and doesn't care about the price.

I get lots of hits on the name in google, but maybe this is him :

That last auction (giants) is misleading if not downright fraudulent. I know he mentions the silver anniversary, but only in passing after noting the 1978 copyright in the first sentence... 8O

This Silver Anniversary crap is really starting to piss me off!

I realize that these buyers just don't know what they are really bidding on, its actual rarity and the corresponding value, but to mislead someone down that path. . .  to encourage a false value and imply a rarity that doesn't exist. . .

I am just getting angrier about it every day.  I like making money at auctioning stuff too. . . as much money as I can. . . but with a little decency and respect for others.

I'm picking up that shrinked Silver Anniversary set this week - I'm going to do a little advertising.

Yep, I have an extra one or two. One is busted open; I put the L3 in with my other modules. I have another in shrink as a collection piece. I think I even have a third than came with a lot from another purchase. Might as well bust it up and sell, sell, sell. Of course, I will completely disclose what I am selling...  8)

One more thing, I actually just went and looked at the L3 auction (noted a few lines up). This guy is a weasel. That description has an element of truth, but just enough to protect him. Still, it is bullshit 8O

The auction states :

AD&D L2 * THE ASSASSINS KNOT * RARE & MINT!!
VERY RARE AD&D 1ST ED * GREYHAWK * ADVENTURE MODULE....STILL IN THE SHRINK WRAP!!!!!

Looks pretty deceptive to me - almost like it was a mistake to put the L2 line in there.  I don't know of any L3's that were in SW.  Unless he's selling the whole box in SW...

I believe that is key-word spamming.  I think the seller figures if you are looking for L3, you might also be looking for a Shrink L2.

Or, they just made a mistake as they state they are offering L1 and L2 also.  At least they didn't say L3 had a cardboard header!   :)

Some funny shit from Germany: A Greyhawk Folio "missing it's guidebook" for $50 starting bid, because "hey, it's a classic":

Rant mode on...........what the HELL is it lately, with these freak resellers labeling everything as "RARE" just to make an extra buck...........rant mode off.

AD&D * THE STAR OF KOLHAPUR * EXTREMELY RARE MODULE!
ULTRA RARE *RPGA ONLY MODULE* ONLY 5,000 OR SO PRINTED!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... egory=2545

Got two of 'em sitting on the shelf I bought at the used book store a couple weeks ago.  Must have been a lucky find, I guess  .
