Hey John,

maybe we should start the "Collectaholics Anonymous" and offer some professional help for other addicts. Group therapy or something.

... or do it the hard way and produce a pc mouse that delivers electrical shocks whenever the evil eBay trigger finger hits the "Place Bid" or "Buy It Now" button. Strength of the electrical shock could be adjusted to the amount of money. Average D&D module would be "ouch", while bidding on a mono C1 would result in a comatose state for several hours ...

Perhaps a daily email to our wives/girlfriends with a complete listing of all items currently bid on or watched.  Weekly  reports are also sent out with a running total of the amount of money spent and total number of hours invested.

For those serious offenders, permission must be granted by the significant other for each item desired.

Jon: "Don't you see. . . it's not just a Coloring Book.  It's an unused Dungeons & Dragons coloring book. . .

Wife: (stares blankly back at you)

Jon: "Umm. . . it's almost 25 years old.  Do you know how hard it is to find a Coloring Book in this kind of condition from the early 80's?"

Wife: (frowns and begins to shake her head)

Jon: "No wait!  You see. . . I . . . umm. . . I used to have one myself when I was a kid, but I colored it in.  I don't know what happened to it.  My mom probably threw it out.  She. . . umm. . .  threw away a bunch of things that meant a lot to me. . . I've always wished I could have that Coloring Book again. . ."

Wife: (sighs with a look of resignation) "fine, get it.  But, the kids and I want to color in some of the pages too."

Jon: (slumps his shoulders and walks away - mutters:) "Never mind - I guess I don't really need it that much. . . "

"Gleemonex makes it feel like it's seventy-two degrees in your head... all... the... time! "

Wondered were that came from, then I watched the episode of Simpsose the other night... I'm trying to watch the D&D movie again, I forgot how REALLY bad it was, still trying...

breach, the funny thing is,

I NEVER owned this, was way too old when it came out and was playing 'serious' D&D at that time.  We all were APPALLED at the 'kiddyfying' of the D&D hobby with the toys and stickers and the COLORING BOOKS!

I can clearly remember seeing that in a store and picking it up thinking 'Oh Give Me A Break!  Who the hell would want this garbage!".

Now look at me, attempting dibs on a public board for bidding on a coloring book.  Somewhere, in another dimension, my cooler self weeps. :)

My wife will be appeased soon... I've decided to sell my Mint In Shrink Talisman 2nd print Dragons expansion, Timescape, Epansion and Original game along with my spare set of Talisman minis.  I did some Ebay research.  8O  8O  Pretty much guarantees I'm going to refill the game collecting coffers!

Ok mr. breach... that's the last I want to hear about bringing in the wives. 8O

Shit, she gives me a hard time if browse ebay before the kids go to bed...

Something along the lines of "Your kids don't see you all day..." with a most disapproving scowl...

I can't imagine getting a coloring book...

bb, think about it...while scanning ebay...

"honey, I am trying to find a D&D coloring book so that I can color it in with the kids."

One of those two birds with one stone thingies. Of course the fact that you are unable to find one in all of your searches (or is overlooked) is irrelevant.

Youre not alone, that and the other pieces of art that seller always has up for auction have never sold.  They have been around for a very long time.

Imagine the ebay fees for a $7000 listing that doesnt sell over and over...

"What can I get for $10?"

"Mint Rare and Shrinkwrapped-just pick that bar of soap up for us pls, we love you long time!"
