I won't bite on that one.  The bookplate on the inside cover and the "corrections" within the book kill the value.  Especially the bookplate because there's practically no way of getting that off the book without damaging it.

For gaming purposes, it's fine.  But not for collecting unless desperate.

Not entirely true that you can't remove a bookplate.  It can be removed with heat (e.g. a hair dryer) and a lot of patience.  I did it once - it took something like 12 hours to remove it.

So it can be done - it is just more effort than it is really worth.  And, of course, you have to watch out for the heat screwing something else up as well (i.e. don't try it near the binding).

Wow!  Talk about a blatent shill!

Me, I wouldn't trust this just because he put "addition" instead of "edition".

Welcome back, McDuff!

Thank you; and likewise to Deimos and Paul.
Yes, that win (has hopefully) exorcised a few demons, etc. As a bonus, the auction even attracted a high bid from Frank (*g* sorry!).

Unfortunately, it's difficult to tell from that pic whether the "Fantasy Supplement" is a photocopy or not.
I didn't ask, so will have to wait to find out: am guessing that it will be, however (the description states "booklet" but appears to be top-stapled).

Can't find the 3rd edition just now, but my 2nd edition "Chainmail" (*mutters "photocopy" (grr...)*) has the start of the "Fantasy Supplement" at page 25.. In that case, the small page number at the bottom right would be obscured in the auction image by the apparently wrong-colored Volume 3.
(Yes, I had noticed that "minor point", Paul: this is becoming a habit, it would seem...).

Regards,
David.

"War of Wizards"; $9.99 (5 days to go)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5923199800

Only bagged, but apparently nice condition. (U.S. sales only).

(A good few wargames, etc., on the seller's listing, for those interested. The copy of "Elric" is defective, however).

It comes bagged.
Sorry about the woodgrain, had I known you wanted it I'd have stepped off. Let me know next time!

If you hit a Rowsdower, you get to keep it.

Sorry, Frank! I thought I'd seen WoW boxed, too...

No problems on the woodgrain. Much appreciated, but John was going to run me all the way for that one, anyhow!
(Presumably it's still "gloves off" for the next mint-condition undeniably-first-printing, however ;))

A couple that may be of marginal interest...

1983 Tim Hilderbrandt calendar with "Dungeons and Dragons" imprint.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 2271273700
Going cheap, anyhow. ($2.75 with 18 hours to go).

Original color artwork s.t.b. from "Karameikos" (1994) ( RPG United - Karameikos Kingdom of Adventure )
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 2271376299
$16.50 with 1 day to go. Not bad work, IMHO...

And one "listed" item...
Polyhedron #20, 22-32
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5922751657
$2 with 3 days to go. Seems fair enough at that price, for those of us missing R5...  :)

Doesn't #20 come with R6 as well?  No good to me as it's US only.

Definitely!   But I must sell some stuff to make more than a half-arsed bid bid next time.

Hey, what's wrong with a guy trying to get a bargain, eh?  I had them on watch for the past several days, and only put the bid in after they were posted here =)

Since I'm clearly not going to get this one cheap:

cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&a ... 5923791619

Claims to be a 1st/2nd (disputed?) print in NM.

Anybody know what's the deal with the current high bid having 3 bids in 5 minutes though?  I'd be a little concerned if I had money.  :)
