Detailed Instructions (copied from last year)

In the "It's Go Time!" section, click on the "Sign Up Now" button. This should take you to the "Sign in to Yahoo!" page.
You will need a Yahoo ID.
*If you have a Yahoo ID already, sign in.
*If not, click on the "Sign Up" button toward the bottom right of the screen next to the "Don't have a Yahoo! ID?" section. You will be asked a few questions and then can continue.
Once you are signed in, you should be at the "Welcome to Fantasy Football registration" page.
Click on the "Join league" button under "Managers - Join existing league" header.
This should bring up the "Join a League" page.
Under the "Accept an invitation to join a Custom League" header, select the "Join Custom" button.
Input League ID: 454838
Input Password: acaeum
Save & Continue

Draft is currently scheduled for Saturday August 22nd @ 6:00 PM CDT (GMT/UTC -5 hours). Those that cannot make it to the live draft can still set an auto pick list to prioritize players.

Last year we also had folks join the Yahoo survival league so I will put it up again this year for those interested. There is no maximum number of participants in this game.

The survival league was over after week 6 last year. This year, Yahoo gives the option to have a Two Strike or Three Strike league instead of the One Strike league. Those who join, let me know if you would like a Two or Three Strike league instead of the One and done default.

I've kinda picked a load of players who appear to have done well last year, but I'm not sure about the whole draft thing...

As my time is so different to you guys, will it auto pick for me if I don't get there at the right time, or will I be left with the 1 legged, blind WR who has syphilis and an iron lung?

Live from that League Web Draft Pages.
It will give you a link to the actual Draft Site on the day of the draft.
I think that link is available about an hour or so before the actual draft starts.

In the mean time you can test your computer set up to see if it is compatible with the Draft Site.

Go to Draft Central (One of the top buttons near the right).
Look to the right side where is is giving the Countdown to the draft.
A small bit underneath says:

TEST YOUR SYSTEM TO SEE IF IT IS DRAFT COMPATIBLE

Click on that....

The Autdraft will do a draft using one of a few options by your choice.
If you do not make a choice, then It will take the best player available (Yahoo Sports Writers opinion) at each STARTING roster spot you have not yet filled....

OR It will take the best player left from YOUR cherry picked list for each empty STARTING roster spot not yet filled.

Then it will begin picking random until your Bench is also filled up.
Like 8 more WRs, or 3 kickers and 5 WRs....

Be very careful about how you set up for an autodraft.
You can kill your team with it.

When do we learn the order of the draft?
I need to make a few plans.... Knowing the draft order would help with that.

So how many players do I get drafted into my team? I've picked a dozen or so from the top 100 including TE, WR, RB but I didn't know if I should be making a proper team... cheers for the pointers, I should be up to speed in a year or two! :lol:

Not until the draft itself gets generated, which is roughly 30 minutes before its start.

The autodraft did just fine for me last year with starters, the thing to watch for like Gnat says is too many/too few at each position... I think I had three team defenses last year, for instance. Unless I could play them all at a time, I have to feel there was some waste with those picks :roll:

Roster Positions: QB, WR, WR, RB, W/R/T, W/R/T, W/R/T, K, DEF, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN

Each team will have 9 starters and 15 total roster spots...

If you meant you picked a dozen from each position then that is probably enough for say QB, Kicker, and Defense...
But not for the other positions.

If you only picked a dozen players period then that is not nearly enough.

There will be 12 teams with each team picking a player every round.
For 15 rounds.
That comes to 180 players total.

Nine of the players on your 15 player roster will be your every week starters and the rest will be Bench Roster Spots (For when one of your regular starters is off that week, or playing a tougher team that week, or whatever).

If all you picked was a total of 12 players, there is no way you will get all of the 12 players you placed on your wish list.
In fact, if you get 2 or 3 of them I would call you a lucky guy.

The Luddites League will also return for this season...

We already have seven returning teams, and three slots to fill.

This isn't just for laughs....WE PLAY FOR MODULES!!!

Everyone antes up a 1E "letter" module. Winner gets them all. Last year Lucyjoyce got a nice pile of goodies, I think she ended up with the entire A-series, a WG4, T1, and a few others.

Contact me if you want to join, I'm still waiting to hear on a couple of returning teams but we'll have at least two slots open.....

Draft Date is Sunday, August 30th at 4:30 central time. We already have myself, Smarmy, PaulKM, Gnat, LucyJoyce, Mdr003, and Sheeadog.
