Clearly, the best solution is for neither of them to bid thereby allowing me to suddenly speak up and get it even cheaper. :D

Good thing I dont collect mini's.  That way I can at least go eat lunch.

Well it looks like 5:00 PM Friday would be best.
That way we only miss the CCG games auction. The RPG auction starts at 6:30 PM. Of course sometimes the auctions run over a bit.

I've got events scheduled solid through dinner.

If I manage to ever get over to the auction hall, is there going to be a pre-designated 'Acaeum area' or a way to recognize and congregate?

Best to meet just outside the auction hall so we all know where to go :)

I agree. We could meet at around 4:30 - 4:45 and then head over as a group.

As much as I hate to say this (since it's pushing the start up potentially even further), 90 minutes may not be sufficient to be served food and to return to the show in time for the auctions at 6:30, even if you're relatively close by if you have a large-ish group.

I'm booked from 2-6pm in one of Rob's events, but would love to get together with folks at some point, perhaps after the dinner @ the auction or somesuch :D

I left my Friday schedule open after 3:13PM (seriously, I have an event that runs from 1:13 to 3:13!), so anything after 3:30PM should work for me.

Didn't we do this around 4:30PM last year?

The collectable auction doesn't start until 8:00 PM. If you want we could hang until 7:15 or so.

I figured if Tom Wham is coming he won't be able to make it until after the Train Games Auction. This would also give time for Alan and Rob to make it.

If you can't make it to the dinner we will surely see everyone at the auction.

Shawn

Sounds good.

So, where can I go to get a primer on the GenCon auction?  I haven't been in aeons, so I need the basics:  info on cash vs. credit card, bidding process, the whole nine yards.

I have been reading the Gen Con forums for info and this is what I came up with:

Hope it helps.

Yah, this year I'm a 'guest auctioneer' but will be doing the ultracollectibles & rares each night.

I just opened a third business location (in a shopping mall, with mall hours, yawn) and will be arriving later than usual, prolly Thursday afternoon. But I've been at every GenCon since 1979 (plus both GenCon Easts, some GenCon Souths, and 2 GenCon SoCals), and not about to miss one now...

Looking forward to meeting Al.
