The picture might be a first but the picture is not of the item for sale.  Item for sale has the white stonework.

Is it just me or have the R series been fewer and further between on ebay this year? (Any one of them was on my wish list at the beginning of the year but I've not got close yet - though I am notoriously cheap!)

You can never have too much of something you didn't need in the first place.

The second link is of the black box variety.  But it looks like a pre-pub of some sort.  I am assuming that the picture is showing the box top and not the bottom.  Anyone know if there was ever a pre-pub for Tractics?

Given how poorly the original labels were affixed to that black box, it is immensely more likely that they were simply lost than that this is some sort of pre-publication edition.

Actually, excrement, I would think that the "Tractics" tape on the side indicates that it originally came without a label, and the owner labeled it.

If you hit a Rowsdower, you get to keep it.

IIRC, Weren't the labels actually put in the box and left for the purchaser to put on?

Maybe, maybe. I am not a Tractics expert. We do have a resident expert, but I can't remember who..............

That rings bells for me, though moreso on the woodgrain box vs. the black one.  I'm sure David or some other black/woodgrain fox folks could confirm.

I've had 2 GG Tractics - both what I am calling 1st prints and have verified a  2nd print where the books are revised.  All of the boxes had labels on top but as increment said, the glue on them is spotty - at least 2 of 3 had started peeling off (don't remember the 3rd one).  I don't recall any other GG products in boxes without labels either.  I think there is a boxless printing of Dunkirk where a label is included - maybe you were suppose to find your own box and glue it on.

Is this 3 original Greg Bell artworks, 1 Sutherland (the Stirges) and 1 other (looks like Jeff Dee boots on that swordsman...)? Or are these copies?

Anybody find out what the name is written in the Men & Magic book?
