Here's his reply:

500 dollars is not even remotely close to an offer that is going for $300,000 dollars. The answer is NO

So I sent him an offer for $600.

I guess I'm a dolt, but why should a potential investor have to buy all the junk that guy is selling? Should they not be able to say "look, I don;t want your crappy shelving or advertisements" and cut out all the "cost" for that? Seems to me what I'd do, if I were interested (which I'm not and couldn't afford even if I were.)

Hi,

what it does do is make me jealous of how big your games shops are.

I can't think of ANY in the UK near that size.

Shows the difference in rents I guess.

On a separate note, for a gamer who (presumably) reads books, the English in that ad is appalling.

Cheers,
Malc

I bought an operational store near L.A. for 20K. That was fully stocked and slightly profitable. The profit margin on those things is crap though. The upside is having a storefront so that you can order through WOTC and whatnot. That's the only upside, IMO

I'm curious to know his expenses as well, particularly rent.  I've got a feeling that he probably could cut them by a fair bit if he tightened up his shelving (there's a lot of it for the amount of stock visible), did the same with the other bits, and moved into a smaller location.

Granted, there may be a reason he's where he is, but to me it looks like there's plenty of wasted space.

I sent him an email.  The shop has a lease which is up for renewal in November, he tells me that he will be renewing.  The rent is "992"a month which I assume is $992 a month.

I also asked for a set of accounts and he told me he could email me a excel spreadsheet profit and loss account.

I swear...nothing good ever shows up on Ebay anymore.

** expired/removed eBay auction **

:P

Starting to think the above seller and the below seller may be brother and sister and possibly married as well.

Or maybe they just use each others auction descriptions and live in the same city.

I've seen that picture online before.  He just stole it and modified it with the Ebay in the backround.  It is still very "YIKES!!", none the less.

Needless to say for anyone who might be looking,  it likely would be considered NSFW, so do not click on picture of the trailer if you are anyplace it can get you into trouble. And no I am not kidding.

Can people get reported to Ebay for pictures like that?  I am not used to seeing that much meat without potatoes.
