1st printing, appears to be in decent shape, although no ref sheets.

Seller also mentions that he is going to be auctioning off his 2nd edition Chainmail and 1st print Greyhawk.

Seller confirmed that it's a first printing, and is double-checking the other books he has for sale, too.

I emailed the seller asking about the reserve price and the response was;
Not just yet... I'd like to see how the auction goes for a few days first.

With the bid at $787.33, he must have a rather high reserve.

With good condition first prints selling for $4000, there is probably no point of  having a low reserve price.

Has the T1st GH gone overlooked in all the excitement?  Not perfect, but certainly worth a bid at the current price, I would think:

$10,000 worth of RPG books starting bid 99c

http://cgi.ebay.com/HUGE-LOT-475-Rolepl ... dZViewItem

33 D&D books US$69.99 BIN

** expired/removed eBay auction **

38,000 MTG cards US$399 BIN

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Who knows what else this Seller has. They are apparently selling the stock of a bankrupt comic book store called The Dungeon.

If I lived in the US, I could buy some of these and start my very own store!

Do you mean the $10K lot? Want to share the shipping and run a joint bid? Maybe ask if any other Brits are interested?

Well, you could...but then there'd just be one more failing RPG store in the universe.

Don't be fooled by the fancy numbers.  That's $10,000 retail of sorta-new random d20-ish books.  At $30-40 a pop, that's only about 250 books, many of which will sit on your shelves and gather dust for many years all the while depreciating in value.

Every now and then, a kid might pop by and buy one, but you're better off putting that $10k into something that will make money.  (Even the evil neverending plastic minis from hell are a better investment.)

I do not know much about the newer RPG books. I guess it would depend what one can buy the lot for. There are 475 books. If one got the entire lot + shipping for around $500 - it would only be $1 a book. You could sell them off slowly on Ebay. Even at $5 a piece, which shouldn't be too hard, you'd make a reasonable profit.

Just so long as they don't get stored at Al's place...
