For style purposes, definitely. Plus squarebound books don't age well, so it's more likely to have binding problems affecting usability. The compilation has a few more illustrations [although not the nekkid vampire], more detailed descriptions of the drow city, a little more about the ithilid city, & most importantly of all the drow chicks on the cover.

thing is, more descriptions doesnt sell it to me. you dont really need that and i like to make stuff up anyway :)

i always found the super-module a lot harder to read and use, but quite likely thats just me.

almost better? sheesh its MILES better to get the individual modules :)

from a DMs perspective, i actually find it easier having the the monos G1, G2, G3, D1, D2, D3 and then the normal Q1. its more rough and ready and i dont see stuff on the pages that distract me and its easier to just make stuff up to fit what i want.

but then to each their own.

Oh, I agree that it is functionally better.  :)  I just meant that it is almost better from a price perspective to get the individual modules over the compilation.  ;)

well i dunno about that - getting your hands on all of them individually, would prb add up to just as much as the one super module imo.

Besides, GDQ1-7 still typically yeilds a $50-$60 price tag.  TBH, I am not sure outside of perhaps a few lucky low ball BINs, that I have seen a GQD1-7 go for anything less than $40.

Just thinking of the supers: GDQ,ToEE,A1-4,B1-9,S1-4...
ToEE implies that it includes 3 otherwise unavailable modules. That makes it pretty valuable I guess. While GDQ does not, it does offer 7 in one, each being pretty darn cool.

I'd like to see someone fill out GDQ, with some awesome illustrations, and turn it into a hardback. That would be worth something to me.

Cheers!

...speaking of which, there's a TON of whiteys on ebay right now.  Prob'ly more than I've ever seen at once.  And some of the bids are insane!

Another Metamorphosis Alpha up.  Although this one is not a 1st print and looks a little well-read.

i beg your pardon: do you recognize a first print by the code "SR-blabla" on the lower left corner of the cover? is this the only feature to detect a 1st print?

Its one feature.  I believe it also states inside the book that it is the 1st print and has a date.  The 3rd print has the product number 3001 and also states 3rd print.  I'm not sure though if the 2nd print has the SR code or number code.

Has this gone under the radar, or is it just un-interesting?  Looks pretty nice to me.
