Up from the one Bombadil won anyway.  I wasn't sure what to make of the whole staple thing.  It should have been pretty easy to tell if there are staple holes in the book or not.  Not sure why the seller was wishy-washy on that one.

If the seller has good feedback and is clear that the item is in great condition, then I reckon that goes a long way. There is always an element of risk  :)

Shameless self-promotion, but it may be of interest to someone here.

Not too bad looking OCE with Blackmoor supplement:

Tell you one thing though...whoever wins the auction better tell him he better not ship it to them in a padded envelope unless they want it flattened by the time it gets there.

The starting bid will probably scare most people away.  You may want to post this in the classifieds section.

Unfortunately it is a U.S. only auction.  Read a little further down and you find out why:

Wonder if he ever sold anything to Cougar?  Jeez!  :o

Alright this now belongs in the Silliest Prices thread.  8O   When they released them they were $10 apiece for the books....they weren't worth that then and frankly they aren't worth that now (at least in my opinion anyways...disagree all you like).

Fess up!  Which one of you guys sent the seller the questions?

Not only is he one of the many "we-want-recession-in-the-US-so-we-won't-accept-money-from-foreign-countries" guys, not only isn't he the slightest inclined to compromise (the would-be bidder had a friend in the US and PayPal), he also replies in monosyllables. Good thing I'm not an eBay administrator, or I'd ban such sellers for moronism.

TSR put out black and white reprints of some of the the books after original stock ran out.  I have a Blackmoor version that I bought from TSR.  I cannot say if all of them were reprintred in this manner though.  They could just be personal copies...

Someone here a while back mentioned there was a final "photocopy" release of Swords and Spells but I didn't hear anyone backing that claim up.  With the cover of Eldritch Wizardry being black and white I am guessing it is a photocopy - authentic or not.

That just sounds like trouble.  Are the covers still a thicker cardstock or just paper as well?

Looking at the bigger pictures, I'm tempted to say that there's some staple rust on them.

Of course that doesn't mean they're authentic, just not new copies.

Excellent! You should post that in the TSR kitsch thread.

A must have for the TSR completist. How many in that series I wonder?
