They could have little tabs with 'fold here' and 'glue here' written on them.

The dice sides should come in random packs...rare, uncommon, or common based on the numeral depicted thereon.

Don't even think about it, that patent is pending.

Why limit yourself though?  Why just sell 1 - 20?  Why not make it so you build a die out of whatever sides you can get, and just package all the numbers you can think of.

Playing a game where rolling higher is better?  Build a d20 that goes from 20 to 40.
Playing a game where rolling lower is better?  Well, who wouldn't want a d20 that's all negative?

It could be a bigger excuse for wholesale highway robbery than Magic: The Gathering was!

...and I demand a cut of the royalties. :P

Umnnnnnnn.........

Do you mean something like the chits that came in some of the second edition box sets?
They are a replacement for dice and are made of thick paper.
PDF's would be quite simple to create.
http://www.acaeum.com/ddindexes/setpages/basic.html
In the 5th and later print runs of the second edition box sets (After OD&D) cardboard or paper chits were included in box sets instead of dice as TSR apparently had a shortage of dice.
Cardboard chit sheet attached to the rulebook, featuring dice chits, a "how-to-use" description, and a dice coupon.  Around this time TSR experienced a dice shortage, and began including the dice chits instead of the dice and crayon...

Maybe Megnelwil will share with us the condition of this copy when it arrives.  Those staples just don't look good to me.

Truthfully with respect to the dicussion, condition doesn't matter that much.  Actually the worse the condition of your copy megnelwil the better it works for my argument.  The fact is that it sold for $25 US.   For some reason our friend above is attempting to call me out as liar because I apparently had the audacity to say that I firmly believe that the OCE pdf will hurt its value in the long run and he attempting using my OCE purchase with the Gods, Demigods and Heroes a few days ago as "proof" that I am lying when I say this, although I am not sure why.   Considering OCEs have been throught the roof lately(I just sold one for $180 myself {granted OCEs typically don't go that high} and he already knows that) even if I only sell the OCE again for $80, I am likely to recoup most of my money and the last time I checked $80 is far < than $180, but then again I was always pretty good at math.

So for the above poster, yeah you got me, I really don't believe that its price will be hurt by the pdf, I am really lying when I say that.  This is all just my evil scheme to get everyone out there to sell me thier OCEs all cheap so I can make all kinds of money by misleading everyone.....muwahahaha.   Whatever.

I'm just curious to see the condition of a book that coug doesn't list as VGC is in.  Personally, I think this thing must be completely soaked through and crispy from drying.

The image and description are stock. If the item isn't up to expectation then I'll return it for a refund. I have no worries.

On another note - saw your online shop. Very nice indeed. I'm suitably jealous. But there's one thing you don't got and that's a water-soaked copy of Deities...

The beauty of having dry stock is that I can always soak it later if you want it match your other book :)

They can just include Gleemax.

Those who can, don't. Those who should not, do.

I keep trying to wrap my mind around that decision.

Taking into account the fact that it is aimed at a different audience than me.....

...It sucks most wondrously.

Downright inexplicable.

Well it arrived and it's certainly not VGC. But then, nobody said it was. The front and rear covers are damaged as described, maybe worse, but the contents are fine except for the odd blemish arising from general use by the look of it. For £12 it's more than usable and a fascinating read. I'm keeping it.

Just to put £12 into context, it will buy you half a train ticket from Cambridge to London, or 2 miserable, watered down pints of beer once you get there, or 10 minutes stuck in a jam in a London black cab, or 2.5 soggy sandwiches if you feel peckish. Any of those things or a 30 year old flashback to the birth of D&D isn't a hard choice really. Over here inflation is rampant, tax is through the roof, you get fined for something or another just by stepping out your door and it all makes £12 seem like loose change, which in reality it is. I really admire this web site and have found it useful but as a research tool it's far more geared to the US than the UK. Figure a 1:1 Dollar/ Sterling ratio for everything - in other words everything we buy here is twice the price you pay in the States, in real terms - except on the more expensive items maybe. Which is why I can't understand why an easier method for Brits to gain access to the US market hasn't been put in place - I have plenty of ideas by the way.

Anyway, that's four deals with the seller concerned and apart from one dud item that cost 99p (offset by a mint/sw item costing the same price) in all fairness I have to give a thumbs up. I can only go on my own experiences whilst sympathising with those who have had problems.
