I didn't see a place to put this in the forums... but

For those living in the North Texas area...

Since I have only met "bad" Mike, if any of the rest of you in the area wanna drop by on Sun July 8th any time after 1200 noon until midnight... we will be having grilled burgers, chicken, pork back, brauts, beer, margaritas and other food.

You can drop by, hang out, eat, drink, and swim if you like. (or just drop by and leave rare D&D items for me...)

Please, RSVP by July 6th so I can make sure to have enough food (I should have plenty no matter how many show up... but)..

There will be other people here (ie: other family and friends dropping by throughout the day).. but those in the area (or heck, fly in if you like) are welcome to come by (it's a late July 4th part since the 4th had to be in the middle of the week)

I live in Arlington, TX so I'll give you the address with directions for those that want to come by.

Sounds like fun, but I'm in California.

What is it about Texas that so many Acaeum guys live there?  Do you have pole-arms training as an option in high school?

Man, that's an awesome invitation.  I only wish I could attend.   :D

I've only been to Texas once, and was pleasantly surprised.  Long-haired lib'rul and all that...

Nice gesture on your part!  Have fun guys!

Every Sunday after noon is Fighter Training at Randol Mill park here in Arlington.

The local Nero (New England Role Playing) group (LARP) has fighter training for a few hours in good weather. If you are a member it's like $10-$15 and you get to train with various weapons in the "ring"

So far I have 2 definite and 1 maybe that'll be dropping by.

Those in the area, don't be shy... it's free food and free beer... what else do you need... I use to drive to El Paso (12 hours one way) on the weekend to pickup Coors Extra Gold back in the day when you couldn't buy it this far east....

Heck when I was in the USMC and stationed in California, we would get off on Fri about 1700 and drive 13 hours to El Paso to get there for early breakfast.. spend Saturday and Sunday in Texas and drive back to the base over Sunday night... nothing kept us from Texas :)

You'd fit in here in Austin, Bom, most liberal city in Texas (the wife and I are here for the weekend.  College students, homeless, hippies, ex-hippies, hippie wannabes, etc.  Great places to eat!

Thanks for the invite, ScktreWhisp, but on such short notice I can't get down there (though flights to Dallas are very cheap this weekend from Wichita, and driving is always an option since it's only 6 hours or so to Dallas from here).

Have a great time, and slay an orc for me :D

Driving isn't the problem...SWIMMING  the Red River would be.

I'm seriously worried about having to dodge the flood zones when King and I drive up to Indy this summer...

Well, with the big rain finally leaving the area... though a few scattered showers will be around over the next couple of days..

Come on out tomorrow... Sunday, from noon until ... well, until you leave.

burgers, brauts, turkey legs, chips, beer, table tennis, darts, swimming
(that's not a complete list, but it's all I need)

I intended to come out, and I am sorry I could not make it.... :(
Family was in and they trumped my wishes.
Everyone went out to the in-laws place.

ScketreWhisp:  I'm in Keller (work in Arlington when I'm in town) and we had today's rain around noon'ish.  I'm sorry that I didn't see this thread until way too late to attend.

Hey Grodog, where you gonna be the first couple weeks in November? I'm headed back to Emporia by way of Wichita airport about then.

Sorry I couldnt make it either.  Already had plans with the family for Sunday.  And since I spent most of the day Saturday playing D&D I'm pretty sure my wife wouldn't let me off the hook two days in a row.
