Yeah, you're not supposed to start a listing with the intention of filling the details in later. But even more insane is that it appears someone bought it.  8O

Hope I'm wrong there...

No, really, you lost it. The title originally read something like "For X [can't remember the name, maybe Finbon] only, please do not buy!". I warned it that it was an eBay violation and he changed the title afterwards.

The original title was: Boxed sets for FONDIN Only - Please do not purchase!

The book is in an above average condition with the binding at the back coming away from the spine. The spine has some damage top and bottom. The pages are in a very good condition except the front few and back few that are heavily creased. The book has been well used but still has plenty of life left in it.

That sort of thing didn't used to be a violation.

Well, maybe the title needs some work, but the idea behind it used to be legit. To wit: a seller could set up an item using a list of pre-approved bidders. If the list contained only one person, that was still okay. eBay didn't care, as they still collected their percentages.

I think this sort of thing was more common in the pre-BIN days; it was a fairly easy way to facilitate a private sale. Now, of course, offering something to anyone at a fixed price makes a bit more sense.

Item is in good to excellent condition.   Corners worn and lower spine is torn.

$35

If the lower spine is torn, I think that would mean you shouldn't use the term "excellent" with the condition, and probably not "good" either.

Yikes!

I dont know what is worse.  The utterly ridiculous starting price and BIN, the description of the box bottom (which looks like mold to me), or the comment about the Chainmail supplement being "virtually non-existent" on Ebay.

:?

I came across this auction too. Thats the problem with some people, they think thier items are made out of gold and gems.

I have no words

Except maybe I'll start putting up my immaculate-condition 3.5 books. Based on that price, I should be able to get well over $100 on each of mine  :D

Wonder if this seller is answering questions of any curious buyers:

Like, how many SF and Fantasy novels are published in a given year?

While I think someone posted this item previously, I happened across it again.. I just can't decide whether the guy is a congenital imbecile or just not a native speaker/writer..<sigh>

But if you want to laugh, do yourself a favor and check out some of his other listings.. My particular favorites are "we can write a song for you" and "we can make a movie for you"! Just pick a style, and before you know it you'll be famous. Really!

The price has been coming down.  Not enough, of course, but down.
