She's cold as ice!!!Female Frost Giant with Stone Axe Ahem... I don't mean to belabor what is obvious in the photos above, but... Do you remember a time when D&D was marketed as a game for "adults?"This figure as you can see is topless. This fact may raise eyebrows today, but it didn't back in the days when you purchased your dice and other gaming supplies at the same store that sold blacklight posters, beaded curtains, and bongs shaped like a wizard's head. Point being, while I don't know who manufactured this particular mini, I would have to conclude that it was manufactured sometime in the 1970s, or certainly no later than 1983, which is when Gary Gygax launched the Saturday morning "Dungeons & Dragons" cartoon. ("Uni, come back!") I'm sure you follow my logic here. This fine warrior woman harkens not from the world of Saturday morning cartoons, but from the Saturday night D&D game held in the blacklit basement of your freaky friend Steve; you know, the guy who wore a musketeer's hat to school, never took off his sunglasses, owned every album by Hawkwind and B.O.C., and who responded to the taunts of the school bullies by quoting passages out of Michael Moorcock. We all knew a Steve at some point, didn't we? But I digress. This figure stands over two inches (6 cm) tall, and has a pretty good paint job, except for one odd feature, which is that her nails are painted pink. I did not do this. I suspect it was one of my housemates' idea of a joke, but none of them have 'fessed up. So, be it known: what you'll be getting here is a savage, half-naked, giant, blue-skinned warrior woman from the frozen wastelands of the north; who, at some point during her sojourn south to maraud, kill, crush and pillage the settlements of puny hyoo-mons, found time to get her nails done. I hope this is not a deal-breaker.

I am homeless (living in a van) so your purchase helps put gas in the tank and cat food in the bowl.

Gnat the Beggar wrote:Nice looking minis though.I also like how he takes standard minis and chops off the heads, or arms or weapons and adds some of his own stuff to make them more like the PCs.
This great find would be a fine addition to any collection and displays nicely!
The design depicts design of that era.
