I was thinking the same thing. I love looking at other people's older books, and seeing the notes they made and the coloring, which is especially rampant in MMs. I have some Dragonlance modules with the feedback pages I filled out as a kid, and they are artifacts of my joy with the game.

I don't think I'd like a book quite as beat up as the one in that listing, but part of my collecting fun is getting my hands on a book that has been gamed with and seeing how it has been used.

I'm as big a fan of getting near mint DMGs, MMs, PHBs, and D&DGs as the next guy, but I enjoy used books that have notes, doodles, game tips, etc. in them as well. I have DMGs that have all the characteristics of artifacts filled out and attached tabs for easy reference; PHBs with running commentary about what does and doesn't work or how to make things better; MMs with colored in pictures and added detail/mythology for the monsters and so on. I enjoy collecting these every bit as much as finding the rares or first editions.

Hands down, my most favorite part of buying used D&D stuff is finding the old character sheets. ALWAYS a fun read.

Absolutely - I would bet I have seen upwards of 30 Vorpal swords, and dozens of characters with no stats less than 15 - wonderful stuff :lol:

You can never have too much of something you didn't need in the first place.

64 minis @ $279.00 is around $4.75 per mini (plus the box).

FWIW though I am no expert on mini's.

Oddly enough, I could see somebody buying that (though maybe not at that price :roll:

).

For a while at least, Marvel's action figures would contain parts of a larger figure. (They may still do this; I dunno.) The idea being that in order to get all the parts to put together Galactus or Apocalypse or whomever you'd need to buy all the action figures in a given series, as each had a different piece.

If you only wanted a few of them but wanted to build the larger figure, that could be useful. Though it certainly is a strange item to see auctioned regardless. :lol:
