The photo on this just looked really funny to me. Is that supposed to be Warduke?

Check this thing out...a spiral bound 2e PHB. I was going to post this in Report Copyright Infringement thread, but the description/rationalization is too funny.

I have no idea if TSR released this as a soft cover version, or if someone copied a hard cover edition and formatted it into this spiral.  Judging from the darkness of some of the graphics, it looks like photo copies.  That having been said, it is complete (255 pages), totally readable, and showing little or no wear.  It has a plastic protector on the front and sturdy black cardboard type back page.

As if the cut-off artwork and text on the cover isn't an obvious clue, too.

Assuming there's any type of age to this at all, I'd think it'd cost more to do this than it would to actually buy the book  8O

255 pages scanned/printed, spiral binding, covers(coverstock) etc

I have no heart to report this as a copyright infringement.  That photocopy and binding job seems worth something just as an artifact.

That's true, also I don't get the feeling the seller deals in selling pirated stuff based on his other items listed.

I can't believe there is even the thought of attempting to sell this.

Wow - that is Dog Rogeredest I have ever seen. I note the condition is listed as 'Acceptable' - to whom I wonder.

Wait, who was the one on the Acaeum that listed their beat up manual (PHB?) as "hugely knackered" or something like that? (I was thinking Lawrenson, but that's probably because of his avatar).

That's how this book should be described or maybe "beyond knackered".

That Monster Manual is one of the coolest items I've seen on Ebay.

Somebody gamed with it.  They used it as a reference. They carried it in to a friend's house in a bag. They fixed it when it broke. They colored on its pages between games, waiting to get a chance to play again.  They used it as a handy writing surface.  They passed it around the table.  They leaned their elbows on it.  They used it as a coaster for gamer drinks.  They kept it even when it was cruddy because it was part of their favorite hobby.

It might not be valuable as a collectible, but that's a cool book.

The saddest words on Ebay:  "Never Used"

That's why you don't see me putting my original up for sale. Not worth a dime to anybody else, but to me... priceless.

C'Mon... The guy is only asking 99 cents for it.

It's not like he's trying to make a good deal of money on it...

Avoiding listing fees. It also does not weigh 5 pounds for mailing purposes.

Sounds like he's trying to squeeze every penny he can to me. But then maybe he's one of the fortunate multitudes without a job.

But it's not a Monster Manual... it's a Monter Manual.  Those are much harder to find, especially in good condition.
