Good God, that seller lives in a small town about 10 or 15 minutes away from my small town.   8O  Maybe I should check it out if it doesn't sell.  I can save on shipping; $40 UPS is a bit much, unless he really does have a ton of books.

The description leaves much to the imagination:

"This is an almost complete set of AD&D books with the original basic D&D paper backs plus a few mods and some spell jammer"

My question:

Could you provide a list or a few pictures? I can't see anyone bidding without a clear description of what is actually included. A complete collection of AD&D books (are they fiction or the rpgs) can number in the 100s.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Or the World's Largest Dungeon.  :x

What is "value"?  The SRP of an item or group of items?  The highest recent eBay price or the current Amazon price?

I wouldn't even be that generous. I would say the seller has a stack of recent $1 TLG modules that he will pile up until the retail price has been fulfilled.

There is nothing wrong with the item description, which is accurate. This is amusing simply because I cannot quite recall ever seeing a DM guide is such poor condition!

Hey Gyg,

I saw your listing

...I was just laughing at the word "hugely knackered".  It's not something I've heard before.

I guess we'd say the book's been "totally hosed" over here in the U.S.

The e-mail I sent went like this...

I/O - So your "prize" is based on the bid value, and you determine what you're putting in there? Or is the "prize" a fixed set of items, plus the bonus item?

Douchebag's actual response - I haven't decided. Depends on the price. I sell a lot of D&D stuff as I work at a gaming store.

What an ass...

sadly agree with them :? :?
I played 3.5 a total of eight times before 4.0 came out and now no one I know will play anything else. And they hadn't bothered to tell me when I was buying 3.5 books that 4.0 was coming out in a matter of months. Jerks.

The Player's Handbook is the most used and that only means that it has some wear in the corners. No exposed white cardboard but they are a little wrinkled. The other books were barely cracked open. I only ever played a cleric in 3.5 because my gaming buddies were  rolled nothing but squishy wizards with no healing abilities at all so it was either I play a cleric and tank AND heal or the party wiped in the first room even if the only thing there was an asthmatic goblin with a cooking fork. (Did I mention they were jerks?).

Second Hand book sellers can be real dopes when it comes to listing old D&D stuff. I have a few times seen such dumb prices and listings. I note he/she says:

We are currently in the process of listing our entire, previously unlisted, Military/War collection. Check back often or browse our eBay Store.

With prices like that I can't wait. I am sure they will sell like hot cakes!

Ok, so it's not the actual description that's laughable, but

the linked Youtube video is a very shaky. Someone needs a tripod real bad.
