That price is lunacy...even if it had the box and the rest of the contents that price is still high.

His other AD&D auctions are priced in a similarly optimistic manner.

This is amusing and stupid at the same time:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Seller states at the top that the item is only available for pickup.  Yet in the payment details section it says that they ship first class or priority mail and that buyer pays all shipping costs.  And if that wasnt dumb enough, the BIN is laughable on its own, especially for the box in that condition and no dice.

Farther than the Barrier Peaks, less boxed than Tale of the Comet, and beyond Spelljammer!

OK . . . so it's just a typo.  The year ends with a whimper, not a bang.

2 Questions:

1) Overpriced?

2) Shipping - Being in the US, I have the pleasure of dealing with the US Postal Service. Can someone explain the type of shipping service he's using, and what benifits it offers over any standard shipping from the UK?

I'm interested in the product, obviously, but I think I can get a better deal...?

edit - I probably should have posted this in UK shipping...

1) No, I don't think it is overpriced.  I haven't checked on these recently but I think they typically sell in the $150-$200 range so I think the starting bid is fair.

2) The main benefit of Airsure is that the seller is covering his behind should the buyer make a paypal claim.  Airsure includes delivery confirmation while Airmail does not.  If sent Airmail and the buyer makes a not delivered claim to paypal the seller automatically loses (no proof it was delivered) - problem solved with Airsure.

$150-200 high for no box but not overpriced at $89. someone in uk could forward as has said on dragonsfoot would reduce shipping there but not by how much. doesnt seem to have much scope for negotating $24.99 but might help if reduces interest in auction and lower price as result even on starting bid

This seller, to his credit, supplies good photos and charges low shipping.  However, his condition description is awful.

. . . eBay listings

Example:  "Mint" means a blown box corner, shelfwear, etc.

You're right, Hermit. Thanks for the clarification. Now I am absolutely postive everything in my collection is "pristine, mint" and I will be able to retire on the proceeds from my used AD&D games.

Or, I could just say VGC.....

The listing is pretty good except for one interesting misprint.  Included in this lot is an, "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons "The Rouges Gallery."

I guess this product is for DM's who need help with their rouge make-up.

Yes - one of the great mis-spellings(!) - Seller unfortunately missed the chance to describe one of the books as the "Friend Folio" :D

How unexpected!  All of his D&D auctions do the same:

. . . eBay listings

According to his feedback, this seller also sells counterfeit iPods:

I used that book once.  Thank god it was an evil party, or it could have been a very boring session.

Woof!  This box has definitely seen some better days:

The box has some wear on the corners

Nice looking contents though.
