To be fair, to your average housewife, you look at the highest number. You wouldn't number a six sided dice from 0 to 5, or a

from 0 to 19. She's only trying to use her brain.
This week I've been mostly eating . . . chicken and wild rice soup.

They might be a programmer so a 10 sided dice would encompass the numbers from 0-9 inclusive.
In which case calling it a d9 could work (if you stretch your imagination)

"Empire of the Petal Throne is missing its box and the original rules have been replaced with the 1983 revised rules. The four reference sheets are nicely done copies of the originals. Otherwise the game is complete with all in excellent to new condition. The three maps are in new condition and have never been backfolded. The revised rules are in excellent condition. The covers have slight flaws such as soiling, scuffing, and some creasing (see SuperSize Pictures), but retain most of their original charm. The interior pages have a slight waviness, but are unmarked, white, and otherwise smooth. If requested I can replace the revised rules with the originals, but these do have a 3.5 inch diagonal crease in the lower right corner running through all the pages and a brownish stain on the back cover running through a half dozen of the interior pages."
It's a really old ax. The handle's been replaced, & the head is new, but it's real old.

Am I reading that right? It’s listed as the 1977 box set, but with no box and no rule book.
It’s photocopies, a book from 1983, and maps.
Wow. Just wow.
More like buy my old ax, the handle’s been replaced with a hockey stick and the head is missing
