I'm afraid you jumped the gun on that one: our 105-every-day weather has turned into 110 every day.

The East Coast is having troubles with the hurricane?  WHY?

As I recall, FEMA has a giant robot that can prevent hurricanes.  That's why Bush was such a schmuck for not using it.  Right?

Why not just hook the East Coast up to the Instant Problem Solver?

What's going on here?

Frankly, I suspect this whole story wouldn't be nearly as much news as it is/was, if it wasn't for New York.  Geez.  You'd think the world was ending.  I am not dismissing that this storm has been lethal for some, or problematic for thousands of others, but even lots of east coast people are saying it wasn't that big a deal.  I say let's move on.   :?

My orbital deathray is working it's magic.  Soon Texas will be nothing but a cynder.

Now if I could enhance my targeting controls I could focus all the deathrays energy on Rick Perry's head.

I'm afraid he's got that taken care of - the rays would just reflect off his hair.

Yeh, I agree. Apparently, it rained "REALLY" hard.  And the wind blew hard. Typical spring weather here in Texas.

Yes, but was it a racist hurricane?

The last big hurricane apparently did racially motivated damage.

FEMA should have anticipated that and stopped it.

OK...I'm done now.

Yeah, I see where you are going with this.  Someone in New York needs to ask the question,  Is this the United States????

However, I have been to Mississippi and New Orleans several times to do disaster relief, and the damage there was thorough.  I saw blocks and blocks of houses in Mississippi just gone where there was nothing but foundations.  There's lots of damage from Irene, but nothing like Katrina.

Still, what I suspect you are talking about is an attitude where somebody else is always responsible for your problems.  Of course, some people internalize everything and that's not healthy either.

O.K., I'm done.

Why? I've never been helped by disaster relief & can't foresee ever needing it, so it's not fair to tax my wages for other people. They should have known better than to build homes in a universe where mishaps are possible, they should have chosen to inhabit my universe where nothing ever changes & everything has its proper place until some liberal comes along & spoils it.

Taxation is theft, unless it's used for something sane like defense or manned space exploration. America only accounts for about 45% of the world's military expenditures, which means the rest of the world spends 55%, a dangerous gap. I didn't train circus seals in the desert just to see it all fail because we spent our money on something wussy like disaster relief.

And yet all the chats seem to boil down to talk about women, drinking and sports. We need a virtual bar.
