There's already four people on tonight, so if you're wandering about with nothing else to do, come on over!

Last night's chat was a resounding success.  A peak of 11 members were on at one point.

The chat did get a little slow, so I've already implemented a new chat server which we're testing tonight.  It'll be live very soon, I think, as it's going quite well:  faster, more stable, and with the same smilies you know and love from here.

I'll keep you posted.

Testing is complete.  The new URL is the same as the old:

http://deimos3428.acaeum.com/chat

(I just sym-linked the new location to the old, so those using the "testing" URL will should still connect just fine.)

Those that previously registered under the old chat will need to re-register -- I decided against trying to convert the user database as there's only about 20 outstanding accounts.

Improvements:

1.  A dice roller that works (and apparently rolls more 20s)
2.  Massive speed improvement
3.  Easier to administrate when we want to change things
4.  CenterStage doesn't get booted every couple of minutes
5.  Better logging
6.  Nicer smilies

What fun it was!
I came in early but work forced me away until almost everyone had finished!! (Damned work getting in the way at 4AM!!!)

When I logged on at the end Mike was just about the only one left - who proceeded to confirm my assumption that he was a thoroughly decent chap :D

Keep dates and times posted - I'll be there if I can!

I don't start cursing you until the 2nd chat, earliest.....

If Deimos is onboard, which I'm pretty sure he is, I think the Friday night chat should be a constant.  Seems to be a good time for everyone to check in and say hi.  Maybe start a little earlier this week, say 9 pm instead of 10 pm.....
We also had a lot of people on Saturday night, so check in either of those times if you want to get a taste of what it's like.  Warning, it is addictive....!  Thanks to Deimos for the new site, it's even nicer than the old one.

Absolutely!  I've placed it in the chat calendar so folks will remember.  It "starts" at 9pm CST, though that's just an arbitrary time when people filter in.

If this doesn't work for some of you, feel free to post your own suggested meeting time, and don't forget the timezone.  We can have more than one, and of course anyone can login whenever they wish!

There has been some interest in getting a game started on the chat.  If you're interested in playing (or running) a game, please post the game type (D&D, AD&D, etc.) and recommended time.  Keep those suggestions coming!

Ok, that was way easier than I thought!

Use: /roll 4 6 drop

Example Output:
----> CenStage rolls 4 6-sided dice. The lowest die, 1, is dropped. The results are: 6, 5, 4 = 15

Whoops!  The days are flying by too fast!!!!  Reminder, tonight is the weekly Acaeum chat, starting at 9 pm and going until midnight or thereabouts.  Hope to see all the regulars and a few new faces.  I'll be there after the nightly workout! (Yes, the nightly workout....when you are 5'8 and weigh 250 you need to have a nightly workout....)

Okay..got the itch to try and run something on this here chat.
What edition of D&D I'm not sure...would have to prob study up again on certain editions or just wing the thing

So curious what edition people would want to play? (and no 4th is not an option :D )

I'm still in the early stages of putting something together....first would be a "test" dungeon to just make sure it would work properly.  Probably Basic D&D (because very few rules to worry about) but maybe my homebrew system. Dungeon would be a classic (B series, etc) with some changes. But I would recommend a classic JG item for you Shane...it would fit perfectly, and maybe someone would be introduced to the wonders of the Guild. How about Treasure Maps products? All three have some great adventures that aren't too in depth. Tegel Manor would be a blast.

I guess in all the excitement, I kind of forgot about tonight...

It's Friday night, let's chat!

I probably won't be on until later (dinner with the wife).  For everyone else, Acaeum members typically start showing up around 8-9 central US time.  Usually runs until midnight.  Check it out!

shattered   adj. The word "shattered" in the UK can mean either extremely tired or emotionally devastated. You could be shattered by the death of your dear mother or a good invigorating jog. Experiencing both simultaneously would leave you shattered in two different ways at once, and probably reasonably cross.

Man this site is so useful: http://english2american.com/index.html#index
