Can we like move this to a different thread?

It seems that the dayecon vs. acaeum trial is no more scheduled.
Let's be aware of a possible resurgence of that muppet under another name.

This is an important point that should not get lost in the silly shipping arguments. :)

Remind me again what Dayecon did to provoke ire?

His feedback is 98.%

I do remember the "trademark" lawsuit crap.  But, why was he here on this strand in the first place?

He stole lots of money from several people(4 IIRC) here to the tune of say $1500 with a series of R, RPGA & Supermodule auctions that all seemingly got "lost in the mail".

Here are the threads where it was primarily discussed:

viewtopic.php?t=1688&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=dayecon&start=1580

About dayecon, his name is Dayton, Sephen.
Don't know if I can publish his name or not. He did a mistake one time and let his signature in a mail.

It's public knowledge, both here and other places.

BTW, I know a guy *cough* who had an email exchange with Mr. Daye-Glo after the whole lawsuit comedy. One thing became clear almost right away: he is a compulsive liar.

Not that that excuses taking anyone's money, but it does do a little bit to explain some of his behavior ("lost in the mail," his make-believe company, the pretend lawsuit, etc.).

Anyone really bored and feel like reporting all 30 of this guys auctions:

eBay listings

Its bad enough that his shipping costs are patently ridiculous, but if you look at the item descriptions he actually lists why.  Hmmm... Ebay violation much.

Picking one item at random, having looked at about ten,

** expired/removed eBay auction **

It'd be helpful, for me anyway, to see the list of violations so I can add them to my hint sheet of things to avoid. Agreed, the shipping is high - like a million other members on eBay. CSH is going to be busy. True, the guy uses the word mint like it's growing in his yard but he gives the game away by posting up pictures and adding further descriptions. Guess he'll learn now that he's been reported 30 times.

He states that Ebay's fees are included in his shipping price.

Reported the ones that are about to close...will come back to the others.

So it would be better if he didn't mention the fact - like so many other sellers? Did anyone try contacting him first to offer advice, before contacting eBay? Why would he mention a rules transgression in his description if he was playing things underhand? To me he seems like a guy who is ignorant of the rules rather than a shady dealer, or have people encountered him before and had cause for complaint?

Suggest the seller will now change his listings to:

Shipping $7.00 - My shipping costs consider shipping material costs and postage. Combined shipping will be calculated as follows 100%, 50%, 25%, 25%, 25% and so on.

Or maybe he'll drop the price on this occasion if he scares easily. I'm still trying to figure the scope of the victory here.

I only reported the ones with bids on them. I'd prefer the others end without bids and he lose the 20 cents.

I hate to be a naysayer, but, even if his auctions are shut down, I hink he is far less "shady" than those who do the very same thing without mentioning it. We're actually going after this guy for being honest in this case.

He doesn't exactly say he includes Ebay fees in his shipping, he says:
"My shipping costs consider EBay listing fees, PayPal fees, shipping material costs and postage."

Clearly it is a mere semantics issue, but he may even be able to keep the auctions up.

I agree with the poster above that a "friendly" email regarding Ebay rules would have been a better way to start with this guy.

Let's not go through this whole argument again.

I think "handling fees" of any sort are nonsense, and I never charge more than actual postage costs + actual material costs, but this isn't the thread for that discussion -- it's out there somewhere if you want to find it.  This guy's shady, it's been mentioned, it's been reported, let's move on.

Hey I guess if megnewil is okay with getting completely porked on shipping and handling costs then we all should, huh?  Considering that its your old pal Dave's whole business model for selling, I guess your responses in this thread aren't much of a surprise.
