That's deffinately the best thing all round. I deliberately empty my PayPal balance before any transaction over about $40 and use my credit card. If there's no space on my cards I don't buy. I've been glad to have done it that way more than once.

Yes, $40 was actually what I was thinking too.

FWIW: ANY advice offered from my fellow Acaeum members is ALWAYS appreciated.
Even if I am sometimes too dim-witted to accept and follow it.

BTW: I got two messages from the seller this afternoon.
First she said if I sent her MORE shipping funds she would ship it back to me again.  8O

Then, almost right after that one, she sent this:
Dear aneoth,
Actually, I've rethought that. Ebay ruled in my favor as the item sent to me was not the one that I shipped to you and has closed the case, therefore I am also considering the matter closed and will not be responding to any further communications.
- kestrle

That was sent several hours AFTER I won the appeal and even after I got the full refund from E-Bay.
I am still peeved that she gets to keep ALL of MY MONEY AND the itmes both.
Freaking insane!

I would bet a nickle she will relist that set on E-Bay in the next few days.

If she does, let's do an "Acaeum" bit on here and bombard here with idiotic questions. It's the only way to be sure

I'm confused - how did you win the appeal yet she gets to keep your money?  If it was in her Paypal account, they got it.  If she had a checking account attached to her Paypal account, they got it.

What am I missing?

Since the item was delivered NOT as described, the claim went through E-Bay, not Paypal.

From what I understood from the E-Bay dude who worked with me on the phone this morning:
E-Bay paid me through its own pocket and did so within moments of my phone call.
For all intents and purposes, I have no dog in that hunt now.

As far as I know, E-Bay has allowed her to keep the damaged items AND my stolen funds.

E-Bay might go after her (or her money) in one or another, or in more than one way.
Most probably I wont ever know if they did anything with/to her at all.

I suspect she will move forward thinking she got the best of me since she not only gets to keep my money, but could even re-sell the items yet again.
And if E-Bay does nothing more, then she will have gotten away with fraud/theft.

One good thing, she will play hell trying to sell anything on E-Bay with her newly aquired and richly deserved Feedback rating of 66.7%.
That is if E-Bay does not reverse my feedback of course...

1) Ebay can and does do whatever the hell it likes.
2) There is suppossedly a seller protection that can kick in with a he said/ she said kind of case.
3) See number 1

Gee whiz, thanks bro. Maybe you're willing to do that because when this first came out, every game store was giving out the Player's Guide to Ptolus FOR FREE?

If they truly did rule in her favor, the negative feedback would be removed as well correct?  Seems some people at Ebay and Paypal have gotten their wires crossed if she still thinks she "won".

She is working more of her avoidance of CURRENT FACTS.
E-Bay gave in to her yesterday evening.
I called them this morning and the case was reversed in my favor within 4 minutes time.

And yes, if E-Bay REALLY agreed with her my feedback would be rejected forthwith.

I would just let sleeping dogs lie if I were you.  You got your money back.  That would be enough justice for me.  No need to drag it out with her any further.

What's the difference, really (to you)?

Besides, if they've reversed the decision in your favor, I have no doubt that eBay and PayPal will start talking, and they'll be retrieving their/your money from her post-haste.

Hi,

the seller has now changed id, and become zero feedback.

How did they do that then?

Cheers,
Malc

Umnnn...
Malc can you PLEASE post that new ID here?
How do you find these things out?

What good is the E-Bay Feedback deal, if you can simply start over with a new ID and shuck your putrid decaying rotten fleshy skin like a snake?
