hey folks, as most of the oldsters from this time last year, will remember me going on this.

Well the time is upon me again and my flight is at 10am in the morning (thursday) - the race itself starts on sunday, 9am CET (central european time), or it might be GMT actually, just cant remember. anyway i digress.

i have mailed a few bods off here, Shane and BC i specifically remember. i did a few more but the mails bounced (frank f for one).

if you want to receive any e-mails i manage to do while i am there, get in touch with either of them.

However i have opened this thread up, so that anyone who does receive a communique from me, could kindly post it up here for y'all to see!

Hey now, I'm quite athletic, according to my doc. He keeps telling me I have athlete's feet. I don't run much, though....

The BBC (radio) had a brief bit on this race. Only one person has ever died, though one man became lost during a sandstorm and wandered hundreds of km off-course for days and days.

Also, the race course is not revealed until the day of the race to prevent people from practicing. The correspondent wondered who would want to practice running through the desert in the heat.

hey guys!!!

flashing visit. am in a hotel still in Ouarzazate in Morocco. just waiting to go out to lunch with the guys and am trying to type on a french style keyboard

things went very well for me. i will post a full update when i get home.

i finished the whole event in 589th in a total time of 51hrs and whatever minutes. stage 4 took me 19hrs 37mins!!! endurance or what huh.

but i finished and thats all that really matters to me. thats the end of a 2.5 year quest!!!

thanks for all the support guys i appreciated it very much.

will be home late tomorrow night so will catch up proper then!

Great to see you made it through safely this time.

Caught up with the updates when I got back into town, but couldn't send any message as the race was in it's last day or something and message board said it was closed.

A 19 hour stage? Forget physical training, I think you need some pretty good mental training to go through that.

I vote we all pitch in for an ST1, tie it to a stick, and let it dangle in front of Al during the next race. Works for horses.
