Does anybody collect this? What is your opinion on the genre (good/bad)? Do you play? I have collected this genre ever since I came across Forgotten Futures years ago. I love the settings. Currently I am finishing off my Castle Falkenstein stuff.

I like it... I first got into it through Space 1889 and later enjoyed Forgotten Futures,  Falkenstein, etc. I was heavily involved with the development of the Luther Arkwright RPG and the scenarios I had written to be released for it were all Steampunk orientated in homage to these games and based in Victorian times... Due to financial difficulties encountered by the publisher they never saw the light of day.

Its very much a minority interest thing but I know of at least 3 other gamers who will actively go out of their way to lay their hands on Steampunk stuff... You rarely see the good stuff cropping up on ebay too.

So - take heart ! You are not alone  :D

Try Privateer's Iron Kingdoms.  It is great steampunk stuff and D20 compatible.

Games can get you through times of no money but money can not get you through times of no games!!

Not Shadowrun but more like the Wild West meets magic and swords.

Steam engines and traditional Sword and Sorcery to be more precise.

Thanks Blackmoor. I'd seen the stuff but hadnt really looked into that yet. Last month I finshed off Space 1889, Victoriana, and picked up a copy of For Farie, Queen and Country.

I have those as well :)   The Privateer stuff is richly detailed, some of the finest D20 stuff released IMHO.
